Hi there Im mmar license holder. I Have no experience growing from seeds. Do compassion clubs in Toronto offer licensed people that are approved clones or do they only offer seeds??? thx.. call me if you really have a license (not expired), you will need to make a copy of it AND some other picture ID (matching pictures), I will meet you at sublime to verify your identity, collect your copies and submit them to my lawyer ... all confirmed, we have clones of Ice, Purple Kush, OG Kush, Pot of Gold, and Chemo

Hey Mark Iv seen you type in a resent post b4 that LED lighting is no good you even said it was worthless I think. What I'm trying to say is do you experience with the LED lights? no, I am very conservative when it comes to new stuff, I let other people "experiment" before I adopt some new tech  In my research I see so many different kinds of LED's put together in different spectrum and power ratings I see but don't believe amazing results on you-tube if the lights are worthless why are they being made and sold is their types that are knock offs and type that are really tried and tested to to fullest existent. What you think have you looked deep into the technology? Does it need more time? Change is good! But is it to good to be true Thanks man yours truly Mr.Harry Potter the 2ND peace out it is NOT that the technology is worthless, far from it, but the question is much simpler, is it more or less economical to grow under an HID or LED... and at this point the price of LED and what they can produce is far more $/bud then what I can do with an HID.... example: a single 400W HID can produce (on the average, forget about veg room, lets simply stick to just bloom) may be 6 to 8 ounces every 2 months in a 4 x 4 space.... to get the equivalent yield under LED you would need bigger space, may be 4 by 8, 4 by 10?  if not bigger and invest 4 to 5 x more money, you would need a better understanding of nutrition then just a beginner and you need to grow them only from clones as LEDs can only allow the top 1 foot to develop properly so the plants need to be very short hence the need for clones, on the other hand an average "dumbass" like me can throw some seeds in a bucket of promix and just bloom under HID without thinking too much about height (relatively speaking) ..... this calculation seems easy for someone who want to replace a single 400W light with a single stack of LEDs but for me I would need to replace dozens of 1000W lights at exorbitant costs and increase my space by 40%....which is impossible

Would you happen to have any clones for sale? not without a permit from Health Canada My outdoor grow got flooded and I was hoping to throw some clones in the sun for at least some harvest.

Hey guys, I have had a plant a few months now just sitting in the window, It was about 2ft. So I decided start a grow, So I bought a flourecent grow light and got it under for 12-12 to see if it was a girl. And sure enough it was so then I decided to clone her cuz shes getten to big and I wanted 2 plants. ( Im waiting on funds for seeds and 1000watt) So I cloned her last night I used a clean razor , Roots stimulator , but I could not find rockwell cubes anywhere so I used perlite in a small container, and but it under a plastic dome under my light. I misted it (Light is back in 18-6) So I went to check this morning and it looks really droopy and not good. So my question is , what should a healthy clone look like the day after. Any advice would be very helpfull. Thanks THE NEWB perlite may not retain enough moisture to sustain a clone, it should not be drooping, that's for sure, it should look just the same as when you placed it in .... you may want to spray a lot of water and soak the perlite, may be they'll recover

o.k. i had a strange thing happen to me , i got 5 plants about 4 to 5 inche tall all hae 5 internodes i just topped them , then today i go outside and one of them is flowering , it's not time for them to flower outside yet we still got another month and a half , only one of them has started , it's a male , but why would it be flowering its barley out of ts infancy , and its getting 16 hours of light a day , they all came from the same bag of herb ....1st: stress can do weird stuff to plants BUT I don't think that's it.... rutheralis (unlike sativa or indica) is a eastern European strain of cannabis which is also known for its auto flowering proprieties, as in, she flowers whenever she wants to no matter the light cycle.... its a crappy strain, may be some genes got mixed up?

how long should i flush my plants in coco, fed with organic nutrients? 1 watering cycle is a minimum, 1 week is better, 2 weeks is best

The link for photos is to another site...sorry. I couldn't figure out how to post them on the site you suggested. My White Widow ladies are drooping and the leaves are curling down. This started roughly the second week into flowering, its now into the fourth week. I'm on a 12/12 schedule and water 3 - 4 days with 15 ml / gallon (mix ratio as per container). if you are feeding them the level of nutrients as recommended on the brand of nutrients (15-30-15) you are using and you are growing under fluorescent lights then you are over feeding them, the plants simply can not process this amount of food with this low level of light.... you would have to lower the nutrients down to may be 10 or 20% of what you are currently using.... 10-20% is a guess number, may be 30% would be optimum, point is that fluorescent lights are weak compared to lets say outdoors...  There are no yellowing leaves. The color is nice deep green. sign of over feeding, next stage is curling and/or tips burning  Ph seems on the acid side (soil), but the water I use is around the 7.0 mark. which is "neutral" acidity, which is good  I'm using low quality testing (Soil kit and strips). I'm thinking I'm over watering. possible as well, make sure you use promix (and let it dry out between watering) or similar but not "just any" type of dirt, any type of dirt may show exactly the same problems you are describing I will pay more attention to the weight of the container. Also will water with no nutrients that's bad as well, the lowest level of food is 25% of "usual" ... never less for one or two waterings. Is there any benefit to adding a teaspoon of H202 to the water. none What do you think my problem might be??....also I've added another 200w of 2700k bulbs to lighting. more Wattage is always better Thanks Mark. this is my second grow and I don't want to loose it. My first died from lack of attention. i need to log in to see the forum, try http://imgur.com/ , its easier....

Hi this is my first grow in a long time I have been using your promix method I am using B'cuzz mix with nutri+plus nutes I am in the 4th week of flower and i am getting lots of yellowing on the bottom of my plants I don't know if it is ok to give them a high dose of grow? you mean bloom, I see no need to use the grow forumla during bloom A+B you have a 600W and the lable on your nutrients is really meant for a 1000W so be careful, I do not think you need to leach but going down by 10 or 20% on nutrients is ok, better be safe then sorry type of thinking.... the stuff that makes them bulk up is called a "bud booster", PK-13-14 or DNF Bloom Fortifier of anything of different brands.... its meant to be used in week 3 to 6 on top of your regular nutrients or to leach or if is just that they aren't getting enough light i am in a bedroom closet with the doors open during lights on 3 plants in about 2.5x5 feet lights are about 1.5 feet from plants with 2 T5 down low for side lighting so I don't know if I am burning then with nutes not enough nitro not enough light? Also when should I be seeing the buds realy start to swell I have bud covering the stems all the way down and lots of side branches.but they are only about 3/4" thick. any help would be great thanks. as long as its on the bottoms it looks natural, as the 600W can not reach much below 1 foot into the canopy of the plant, so I would remove the bottom 1/3 of the foliage of the plants so they can concentrate their energy on the top buds....  but also pull back on the nutrients as well... down by 50% once ... then back up .... but less 20% then before

This is my second grow with SuperSilverHaze in BX Promix. I have a 180 plant Sea Of Green going in a 56" square tent. 3.5" pots, 18 per standard nursey tray, ten trays in all. My first grow ended with a horrific spider mite problem, but before the perpetual grow was shut down I faced the same identical problems I am facing now. I cloned straight into the BX, vegged 2 weeks, put into flower....2 weeks to develop flowers. At week 4 of actual flowering, are you absolutely sure sure there is no light leaks when they sleep as 4th week is a little late... haze is a bit "retarded" plant so may be that's it, but check ... no light leaks of any sort or the plant delays on-set of bloom  I start getting faint yellowing tips on my sun leaves. PPM runoff was about 1200 with a ph of 5.7. I watered using straight water with promix plain water can lead to "nutrient lock" which looks the same as what you describe somewhat, in any case the lowest level of nutrients in your water should be at minimum 25% of what is "normal" or "usual"... this 25% recovers  plants from "nutrient lock" as well as prevents it from happening  (ph 7.4) for 2 weeks. After week 1: ppm 860 too little ph 5.3. irrelevant. read on   This week: ppm 680 ph 5.5. This week, the same problem that occurred in this strain the first time around came back. Yellowing showing from the inside of the leaves, spreading outward. this usually happens from too much of the following: too much food, or humidity (over 60-70%) or over watering or over crowding (leafs touching each other too much or plants encroaching on each others space)  Two days ago I didn't see this problem, only yellowing tips. The single point leaves on the colas show this on a couple of them, and that is too close to home for me! Between the loss of my first crop, and the problems I now face, I have 9 months invested and I am freaking. !5 years ago, I grew Jack Herer this way and never had an issue. Also....my watering routine: I remove the mesh watering trays from the nursery flats, and place them in my solution. I am basically bottom watering. My first grow, I thought nutrient lockout, so i bought a Hanna 3 way. Now I just don't know. PH? From what I've read its not terrible. PPM? At 1200 PPM they should be taking up more, 1400 ppm is not too high they were dark green. (My water is 90ppm). Any insight? I also hope the post was not too long. I didn't want an oversight. I see 3 problems with this....No.1 the nutrient you are using (Shultz 10-54-10) is a highly concentrated variety which should really be used as a additive and not really a primary nutrient.... 10-54-10 means this...10 (the first number) is a little too much of nitrogen, 54 is correct level of phosphorous and 10 potassium is waaaay too little .... as a bloom additive this nutrient is kind of ok but as a primary nutrient it sucks... if you gonna use cheap stuff may as well use 10-30-15 (for bloom) and just a tiny bit of shultz in the week 3 to 6 on top of the 10-30-15... OR I would switch to an organic 1 part formula like Pure Blend Pro or Flora Nova ......No. 2 problem: Bottom feeding with promix is possible but not easy, promix needs to dry out between watering and its not like being too wet will kill the plants BUT when you add another issue it can be a problem.... you can have standing water but the promix still needs to dry out a little bit between watering.... if you combine over-watering (I really mean that there is NO time when priomix is dry ever) with the type of nutrients you are using you may end up with your type of problems... on one hand the plants are too wet and on the other they are not getting enough food (1200 pp is too little, should be 1400+ in the stage of bloom you have problems at).... 3rd issue: the whole "pH-ing water with promix" .... I do not pH the water ... ppm is one thing but not pH... promix is designed for adjusting pH to its own liking so when you test a run-off it is actually a misleading number.... so worry about the ppm but forget about pH, if you want do this test, as you add nutrients to your water check pH, the more nutrients you add the lower the pH... with Shultz I do not know what the results will be because I don't like it.. but with a proper hydroponics nutrients you drop down pH automatically as you increase the ppm, which for promix works marvelously.... there is another issue here.... supersilverhaze is a very sensitive plant and she will naturally need less nutrients then JackHarrer ..... so this may be more of an issue of incorrect nutrient rather then too much nutrients... I also want to add that when you grow on trays you may inadvertently over crowd them (whether its roots or leafs) which is also a total stress..... ask me more if I missed something

Hey Mark, I got your Hindu Kush and Im giving it about 1100ppm in week 3 of flower. in the 4th to 6th week you could push it higher, I find in perfect condition can be up to 1500 but do not push it if not absolutely everything is perfect, and oh yeah, don't blame me please if they burn, for safety stay at 1100pp Its been responding well, but Im curious how much can I push the ppm before its too much? Also for my next cycle what trimming method do you recommend to increase yield? i.e. crop em, trim off bottom 1/3rd, leave em alone? Any other pointers in getting the most out of this strain? PH 5.1-5.9 (5.2 optimal) TDS 500-1000ppm, EC .75-1.5......

Mark, last grow I had spider mites, so for this grow I got some Dyna-Gro neem oil. NOTE: this stuff can be very dangerous (not as health issue for you but for plants), when applied when temps are 24C and up, it will suffocate the leafs ..also if leafs are mite damaged (more then 50% of the leaf area), then that leaf will die after the spray....your mix must be well mixed and shaken constantly... its so scary for me that I would rather spray ivory soap at 20ml/L rather then neem, takes more times to spray and may not be as effective but usually wont kill the leafs.... if I was you I would spray one plant and wait a couple of days before spraying any other Just transplanted to 12"pots. A week from now I will top them, and a week later 12/12. So I should apply first treatment after I top them, and the 2nd treatment, just before 12/12? Also, need to get a sprayer from home depot, is there a preferred pressure, or brand that you recommend. not a brand but a feature... the sprayer should come with a manual pressure relief valve... I mean you want a sturdy one with decent plastic and 4L or more... + the pressure relief valve ... this is so you can open the top of the sprayer without breaking the top while opening the thing at the end of spraying... without this valve you will find difficult to open the sprayer to refill and you will break the top when opening due to built up pressure...I went through 20 sprayers before I realized I can save money by releasing the pressure BEFORE opening the top....

I have 2 ladies in flowering. My lights are cfl's and tube fluorescent. 2 of the 4 tubes are 6100's the rest are 2700's. I also have 2, 2700cfl's. Would there be any advantage in adding my 2 extra 6100 cfl's to the light bank?. I'm in the third week of flowering. considering how small the amount of lumens you actually have adding any lights would definitely help .... not that I'm being dismissive but fluorescents and cfls are not the greatest when t comes to yield...

Thanks, as for the shelf life, I'm just thinking short term how long do I have to get home & get these babies to bed. Should be a couple days. Should I bring a cooler? for months and months nothing will happen ...but just in case put it into the bottom part of fridge in a plastic container... fridge should not be at max, as in water should NOT freeze in it (place a glass overnight and find out).. and never ever place seeds in the freezer..

i have 2 150w flood lights would that be enough light for the plants flood lights make way too much heat for the growing lumens they provide, in short .. they are no good, sorry

need help on reducing temps in grow room!!!! i have a 1.2 x1.2 grow tent 600w bulb and fourinch carbon filter extraction fan also a 4 inch fan to circulate the air, i cant seem to get my temps below 90 i need help fast because my girls are starting to suffer. any help on tthis matter would be very very helpfull. thanks  lower the temps outside of the tent, as in turn on an air/con or get a window a/c for the room the tent is in, that's the only way I can think of

I purchased White Widow and they are now into 3rd week of flowering. When should I begin to see the crystals?? after the 5ths week may be I'd also like to know if you recommend trimming the fan leaves near the bottom of the plant? I recommend trimming bottom 1/3 of the plant completely, as its not getting much light anyways and is generally a burden to the plant  The two females are growing nicely and I was advised to try tying them to limit the height. Unfortunately I pulled the one too far and it bent over. I've tied it to a support stake. It's been 5 days since it was bent and it seems to be alright. it should be ..I hope. Thanks for the help!!

can anyone buy seeds in person from your store? over 18 yes

Comments

if i find a green or white seed in my weed would it sprout I doubt it, green means immature, white means dry/dead

Comments

How should seeds be stored for transport dark and air-tight plastic container and how long after purchase can they go before they need to be sown. 1 year stored in a fridge is pretty much 0% loss, but after 2 years you expect 10% loss, after 3 years another 10% and etc..

Hi, thrips have several different cycle each located in different spots of the plants. The new born thrips emerge from the meristem, or the fresh bud sites, as they get older they move downwards into the soil. If you use a nematode in the soil you will controling the thrips in only part of the lifecycle, after they have laid their eggs. Another suggestion is the just get sticky strips for flies or what have you, i suggest biobest, they come in these blue plastic cards you can cut to any size just hang this stuff around some main branches up near the leaves. And in a couple days they will be covered with thrips. you would be best to try both a nematode, and the sticky strips, and insectacidal soap. Or get some swirski mites. Good luck!

Comments

Thanks will try it. Also going to try some nemetoes in the soil. Maybe a little late since the thrips are on the leaves. Since this Ontario ban on cosmetic insecticides, it has forced us old timers into new ways doing things naturally.

Comments

Try to get your hands on some predator mites. The ones specifically for thrips is called the "Swirski mite". It about 120 bucks for like 300 satchets. Highly effective!!! specialized horticulture shops should be able to get them in!! good luck!

I have an infestation of those bastard western flower thrips. They leave a silvery streaks on my plants and under examination on the leaf bottom I can see tiny white worm like bugs slowly moving around. Checked on icmag.com and confirmed it is thrips. I found that a spray used by our American brothers containing spinosad as the active ingredient that is very effective in killing these little fockers. But I cannot find it up here. It is called Monteray insecticide spray or concentrate. The only other stuff I have found is a product called Success 480 sc naturalyte insecticide sold here but it seems that you need to be licenced to use this stuff. And at $ 680+tax per litre it is a little out of my price range. I tried safers 3 in one insecticide but it does not seem to work so good. Any suggestions , these little bastardos are eating my crop up. this is a natural way to fight them.... this is to use as prevention (after you kill them), this stuff is to kill them (this is an example, your store should have something similar), note that this is a pesticide and it will affect your taste of smoke, may give you headache I guess if you are sensitive... so read carefully.... the only way to make smoke safe and safe the crop is to mix 20ml of Ivory Soap and spray every two or three days until they leave, in between you may spray with plain water to wash off the soap from the leafs... its not the best thing to spray with lots of water (during bloom) BUT I do not know what is worst, thrips or soak/water/humidity-related damage

are you guys going to release straight buddha seeds either fem or regular no, I have no original stock, but I am looking for a pure sativa strain to start this process again .... its not a popular choice as it yields crappy but for cross breeding it would be nice

Comments

NOOOO, do not prune anything on top, tie the tops down to the rims of the pots, these plants will stretch greatly in flower because you are using flouros, keep trying them down, and keep the lights as close as possible to the flower site. If you prune anything on top, like that nice flower you mentioned, then you will greatly sacrifice your yield. good response

Mark...after 30 days veg and 14 days flowering, my plants have all shown their sex. Firstly, before flowering began, I had one (total 5) show as a male...out and destroyed. Yesterday I eliminated 2 more males, leaving 2 females....horray!! I hope the males were not in there too long as I hadn't checked for 3 days. I didn't see any open sacks....and now they're gone. I am now concerned about their height. My cabinet is 4'h x 4'w x 2'd with the tube lights on the back. My 'ladies' are now 30" and 36" high....how much higher will they get and should I control their height by trimming the top? do not cut the tops during bloom as you may as well kill her, the only thing you can do is to bend her any way you wish with sticks, tie-wraps, staking with bamboo and bending her around and over and to the right or left.. but do not cut the tops There is a real nice flower on the top. Also should I trim the lower leaves only that have no flowers and are not getting the light anyway? yes, definitely, usually you should be able to remove bottom 1/3 of the folliage Thanks loads!!

hey . i am growing strawberry cough from seed i planted them late may and now they are huge 5 feet plus how tall do they get ? unless they get light at night from some source (streetlights, city lights, etc) then they should have stopped growing by now and start blooming (I assume you grow outdoors) .... they may be stretching (which is not the same as growing) from some night-light and/or stress (small pots maybe) and they are all female white hairs are coming out how much longer will it take for them to turn purple they may turn purple at the end of September,  ?? thanks

First off congrats mark and co on having first rate genetics and being the breeder of your own stock. Coolest industry people in Ontario and run a top notch coffee shop to boot (bring back dollar espresso!). I'm doing a guerilla crop of Afghani Gold right now at a secret spot to the south of lake ontario and was wondering (since the weather has been co-operating almost perfectly for me this year and haven't visited in over a month)if they will be showing sex right now? They were popped on April 22, vegged a bit under flouros and have been in the ground since may 8th. Also, are they heavy feeders? difficult to answer, because the humidity levels are so high that i would discourage heavy feedings at this moment in time... when its dry then she is a heavy feeder, but when its wet she is not a heavy feeder...right now in Ontario temps and humidity are too high, in general anyone with a sativa will do well, anyone with an indica will not I use time release ferts with an even npk but was wondering if they would like some supplemental flowering nutes besides some carbs? I have no love for slow release nutrients as they can not really be "controlled".... the only way to tell she needs anything is to look at the leafs and "determine" visually...consequently if this method is working just continue what you're doing but if you see problems get the slow nutrients sticks out of the ground and .. i guess ask me...  Will def give you a sample when they are done so you can judge my guerilla skillz btw. Thanks for being a dedicated weed warrior and all around cool guy!

when im taking cuttings how far down should i put the cutting in my 1 inch rockrool.. until it touches the bottom of the tray (all the way down)... note that it does not matter how deep you go, technically as long as the cut itself is wet they will root ..also my rockrool already comes with holes in the middle but some of them are to big for the cutting..should i just make a little hole right beside it or should i just use the hole already made in the middle I prefer to makes smaller hole next to the ready-made hole on the cube (with one blade of the scissors) ..... but honestly it may not matter much.. try to place some clones in the hole and some right next to it, they should root at the same time

i have transplanted them now into pro mix with very very weak nutes i have 6 now as two of them did not survive the transplant. also the other 6 are not lookin very healthy, tops are still vibrant green but the lower leaves and branches are wilting or have wilted away, the ones that have the wilted leaves i have gently plucked them away from the clone and am hopin that they all survive. any more help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. thanks again ...allow the promix to dry out completely before soaking it with water (weak mix of nutrients) again... and wait

Comments

hi would there be anything wrong with transplanting my plant in the bloom stage..i have 2 plants in 1 gallon pots 16 days into bloom and i want to transplant into a 3 gallon pot would this be safe to do? would this effect the weight of the bud in the end? transplant during bloom is considered stressful and if its to be done at all its better to be done for a really good reason, like the leafs are dying or curling or overfeeding occurs..... the problem is that in bloom the plant will never "look" better after transplant, so you will not be able to tell if you did the right thing... so the benefits of the transplant will simply be unknown (just from looking).... transplanting just to get few more grams of bud is not really recommended, because you risk losing it all

Comments

hi i have took clones off a suitable mother, i have 8 in total now they have been in jiffy plugs jiffy will work but technically speaking they have incorrect pH for cannabis, rockwool is easier and better for clones, ..... BUT jiffy should work (because pH difference is only slight) HOWEVER any problems with the roots and I will blame it on the jiffy for 2 weeks under a 60w florescent with a lid over them but they haven't changed at all in the 2 weeks, what would be the best time to plant these babys to bloom? well, from jiffy you must transplant into another medium like promix in order to let the roots transfer into the new medium, after transfer you need a week minimum to see any growth.... did you transplant?

Comments

if i took 10-15 clones would it be better to clone them under a 24 watt T.5 or a 400 watt mh T5 until they root... 10-12 days .... too much wattage does not benefit clones and it can in some cases be bad

Comments

some what now you need a License to buy seeds for you? seeds no, cannabis yes

Comments

Hi mark. my temps were at 35 degrees for the last week and a half since is was just so hot.. my plants are babys only got four little leafs on each. roots are just starting to pop out the bottom of the rockrool....is this going to effect the outcome of being male or female. yes, males will dominate unfortunately, anything over 32 is bad.... now, if its for a week only, may be it will be ok, I hope am i going to get all males? i have 7 little plants should i just toss them and try and start over or should i just keep on going and hope for the best?... I can not answer that, I would say, keep them ... but start another batch of seeds just in case....

hello i know when im growing with seeds i have to watch out for males but how long does it take a male plant to pollinate a female.Im scared im not going to catch the males in time to remove them be for they pollinate the female... 2 weeks into bloom period both sexes (male and female) show clearly, or at least clearly enough to separate them and kill the males.... in the 3rd and 4th week of bloom the male flower will open and spread it pollen ... so around the 2nd week and the beginning of week 3 is the time to catch the males

Thanks very much Blueberry. I grow overnight, 31C in the am is my finishing temp. Damn smart meters. Its about 24C in there right now, also a circulation fan and exhaust fan. IT'll take about 6hrs to reach 30C. hd

Hi, if we have one of those days of killer unbearable heat, and your space gets way too hot, you can reduce the flower period from 12 hours to 10 or 8, and 14 or 16 hours darkness, but seeing as how your flower at night, it probably wont be too bad, you can always get a portable ac/dehumidifier/fan/heater unit for around 500 bucks, depending on your space. dang man, this summer is so hot, its alllmost uncomfortable i hate it

have clones that r 1 week old that are already rooted in soil. I was hoping to use rockwool cubes instead. Is it too late to transfer the clones into rockwool??? Im a bit worried because I have no experience with soil what so ever hydrponic grow method 10 plants..4X4 table you should not transplant from dirt to rockwool, the other way is easy..... this is just too stressful for the roots... but promix/dirt will do fine on a table, you can treat it pretty much the same as rockwool, but the only difference is that you do not need to water every day, more like every second or third day, but the rest is the same

Hey guys, ive seen incredible results with the following nutrient mix: Botanicare pureblend pro veg + pureblend bloom + liquid karma + sweet + hydroplex + DNF bud fortifier + aqua shield + 2 feedings of high PK bat guano tea at weeks in 4 and 6. 16 oz+, with a 600W. thats amazing, i suggest you folks give it a shot. assuming all your temps and humidity is good, youll get some good results. Use the feed chart on the botanicare website, and cater it to your specific needs. as for the dnf, just give a half of the recommended feeding, because your already getting a decent PK from the hydroplex. for the bat guano, just make a tea like suggested on the pakage, and substitue one of your waterings in week 4 and 6, with only the tea. General hydroponics has a mycroizhal innoculent, which you use in veg, and establish it before flowering. You will get awsome buds, from this combo, and promix. its fool proofff.

Comments

ideally, you want as even a temperature thourhgout the room as possible. stuff like fans help recirculation and homogenize the temp. if you cant do this, and are looking for the most effective area of temp measurement (ie. the plant part that needs the most consideration) its the leaf tops, the top surface of the leaf, under the light, (ie. the top light canopy),is where to take your temps, as you are getting close to harvest, the most important area is the bud sites, as those will be closes to the light, and probably the hottest. stress of this sort can manifest it self as perpetually growing buds. you'll be in week 9 just finishing, and the buds will still be developing, with emerging white hairs, if this happens, jsut crop anyways, its not biggie, it will add the weight, but the newer still emerging buds will not be very potent. so you will have a nice bud, with some shitty buds sites on top. Thee stress can also produce pollen sacks, but hey, your alomst done, just ride it outtttt. but fuck, if the temps are 31 after a dark period, something is fucked up, its going to be so hot during the light cycle, the thc will become denatured on the plant, and the end crop will lose potency. good luck! get some better air exchange, draw air from inside your air conditioned house, and vent it outside, that way your not drawing hot humid air from outside. cheers! pretty good

Hi Mark, Blueberry, this heat wave has me concerned, by the end of my 12hr cycle this am, ambient temp was at 31.5C. My thermometer is 1/2 way up one wall, 24" from the bulb and fully exposed to the light, is this the best place to measure? I would have a couple of thermometers one placed closer to the bulb and one where yours is if I set it at the base of a plant, it is several degrees cooler, approx 28C, even cooler on teh floor. So, how does one standardize the temp reading? you average the reading from a bunch of thermometers placed at various points in the room, if the temps vary greatly, it tells you that you could use more fans to move the air inside Where do you measure your temp? Also, I have 10 days until harvest, I have been watching closely and havent seen any signs of stress/damage to the plants, looking really good, how critical is the temp at this stage? it should make no difference, since you are leaching, correct? I think I may be out of serious danger and can let it run its course? indeed It sounds like it should cool down enough in a couple of days for the final week. Thanks again. hd its a heat wave but since you are at the end I think no damage should occur

Hi mark, are you serious? yes i would like to run the forum, but i have no computer skills :(, i just smoke weed all day and love it so much.u r almost like me :-) This is a great service, theres so much BS on the internet on how to grow, making it seem like a nightmare. This forum gives straightforward no BS on how to grow almost perfect pot. im content to post replies as i have been doing. thanks for the offer, unless the job offers any sort of privileges, nope like entrance to the cannabis cup i don't even go, too many cops surveiling everything, or a weekly allowance of pot im good, but thanks anyways! oh well, had to ask

I JUST GERMINATED MY NORTHERN LIGHT/ BUDDA SEEDS, ONLY 5 OUT OF 10 SO FAR AFTER 10 DAYS, AFTER PLANTING SEEDLINGS 5 DAYS AGO, NONE HAVE EMERGED YET FROM PROMIX WITH A VERY WEAK 25% OF RECOMMENDED PLANT STARTER MIXTURE ( LIQUID GROWTH 5-20-5 ). I BELIEVE I FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS VERY CLOSELY SO FAR AND AM A LITTLE WORRIED THAT I MAY HAVE FAILED BEFORE I GOT GOING. I WANT TO BLAME THE SEEDS, BUT IN REALITY IT IS PROBLY SOMETHING I DID WRONG, CAN YOU HELP ME? P.S. - I PURCHASED SEEDS AT THE AUGUSTA CAFE AND ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCE, GOOD COFFEE AND GOOD CONVERSATION! come by and you should be able to get replacements... note that you should not be using any nutrients when sprouting (since promix actually has basic nutrients) and never sprout in promix itself since it may take a month before they sprout.... you should be sprouting first in water or in a tissue as described here... and then transplant into promix

Hi what is a dimmer a dimmer is a standard light-switch dimmer you can get from a hardware store and wire it yourself... in my opinion you should NOT WIRE ANYTHING YOURSELF.... Hydrotech has ready-made dimmers to slow down the fan, or ask any other hydro store and how would i use it to slow down my inline fan you plug the fan into the (ready made) dimmer and you plug the dimmer into the power socket in the wall... you move the knob on the dimmer to adjust speed as desired... NOTE: fans never break because of the dimmer however you technically void your warranty if you admit that you used a dimmer with your fan... just saying

using a metal halide 400 W bulb. what type of socket should i be using? most sockets say 250W max. any other relevant information for bulbs and sockets is welcome... ie 1000W bulbs? thanks! the ballast and the socket should be purchased from a hydro store pre-wired with appropriate socket... please do not wire this yourself .... especially when you can purchase ready made stuff cheaper

Jimmy krack korn: you could get anywhere from 1 oz, to 2 oz, depending on how bushy it is, and how many bud sites are developed Chris: 20oz is possible with a 600W but it is hard and will take lots of horticultural speacilty. I dont think it would be very easy to get 20oz in a grow tent, because you are really limited with space. you can get more yield if you grow outside of a tent in a 6x6 space with 600W, the plants on the out fringed will not get much light, but buds will still develop adding to the overall yield. Tents suck because you cant bush out your plants, and you are limited by the overall hieght, more so than growing in an open space indoors. you want to run this forum? I mean it.... and are you in Toronto? you have all the answers.... this job has no glory and no pay

forgot to add the question about using bat guano, medicating! how would u use guano? i was thinking of adding small amounts sprinkling it over soil before feeding with full strengh nutes i heard this is the best way for maximum results, your opinion would be very helpfull. thanks because how you use bat guano there is NO WAY to measure appropriate amounts therefore I stay away from this type of nutrients.... some people make "tea", some

I know there no exact answer but whats a ruff estimate on the yeild on an indica flowered at one foot under a 400 w lamp technically a 400W light should yield 6 to 8 oz.

i have 8 cuttings of chiesel two weeks left till i start to bloom, my query is all about yeild. my girls are growing in a buddha tent with 600w lamp and 4inch ex fan, potted in 10 ltre pots feeding bio biz bloom also pk 13 14 when needed i am hoping for at least 20 oz is this possible? possible? yes, but I would hope to get 12 to 16oz if not what could be improved for a greater yeild? week 3 to 6 add on top of your regular bloom nutrients, PK-13-14 + CarboLoad (or any other sugar based product like Botanicare Sweet)

Hi Adam, THC levels are almost impossible to quantify, any claim made by a seed company, such as "24%" or "17%" is just a marketing ploy. Ya, of course, weed that gets you higher might have higher THC. But the "high" effect if THC is affected by the hundreds of other chemicals in pot. cannabinoids and turpenes can alter the effects of THC, and the user's own chemical acceptance in the brain also plays a large role. what does the THC percentage even mean? 24%? if what? 24% of the total plant mass? becuase THC is only 0.0000000001% of the total plant wieght. The numbers are abitrary. I have heard od spectral analysis machines that can give the quantities of chemical composition when something is burned, but get real. You telling me all those companies which make THC claims run their strains through the spectral machines? no, those things are several several thousand dollars. The THC is also affected by growing conditions, you may get "24%" thc when you grow this strain, but i might get only "18%" because i did not give enough nutes or whatever. THC levels are arbitrary and useless, grow pot, smoke pot, if you like the type of high, then good. if not, then try again.

Comments

Adam, WOW, I'd like to know where you are getting your stuff! 24% holy Krap! Seriously, you have to remember that % THC is inherently hard to quantify. How it is measured, the method, and the test equipment can all seriously screw with any results. Also to complicate things what THC compounds are you actually testing for? Besides, most claims of a percentage of THC is set by someone smoking what they were told was a 15% and the stuff they have now is better, so it MUST be at least 20%! In other words, a wild guess, probably based on a wild guess. Even if the base claim is scientific and proven, in reality most of the effects of THC are extremely subjective anyway. What it comes down to is is it the kind of high you like? Some love a pure Sativa for its energetic, happy high. Others like a couchlock Indica for its sedative, mellowness. Most like something in between. What I would suggest is that you find a strain you like, look up what percentage of Sativa/Indica is published for that strain, and look for strains that are in that approximate range. Personally I like a 60/40 Sativa/Indica, but am happy with 50/50 to 70/30. My wife who medicates primarily for chronic pain prefers a 60/40 or greater Indica. We try to have a bit of both our favorites in the house at the same time if at all possible so we can decide at a whim which we would prefer right now. Point is, don't get too hung up on percentages. I've been given a 'medical 18%' and not liked it as much as a tasty 'no name' bud. Besides, with all the strains and choices out there nowadays, bask in the flavours and the more subtle nuances of a good smoke. Does a wine conosur rave about the alcohol content, or the overall experience? Step back, sit back, use a bong or rice paper, and enjoy. Even a mediocre smoke with a bit of age(even 2 weeks!!!) makes a huge difference in effect and experience. And while I'm at it, one more tip. Don't overdry, and don't burn wet! Keep your stash in a jar instead of a bag. It makes a HUGE differencein taste AND high. Try it and I guarantee you will see a marked improvement of your overall smoking experience. Peace.

Comments

I was wondering how you measure the THC levels of marijuana. I know that medical marijuana is only about 7% and good weed has a minimum level of 24%. what you are saying is that when a plant has low THC levels it usually has high CBD levels and vice versa... so a sativa would test low (you say 7%) and an indica would score high, the problem is that there are 400 other cannabinols in cannabis and some Israeli university tested 60 of them, and THC is the only one we have a readily available test for And of course you don't want to have too high of a THC level or you just won't enjoy it. But I don't know how to actually measure the level. So if anyone can help me out with this question I would really appreciate it. there are test kits out there but they are expensive, so consequently there is no standardized way to tell one weed from another.....

I have a few questions .. 1) Where can i find soil with the proper nutrients in it already there is none, any soil that claims it already is "with nutrients" is not good for cannabis. 2)where to find ph tester 3)What nutrients should i get??? Pure Blend PRO, one for the veg period and one for the bloom period for and where to get from???? see the ph tester link, its a store in Toronto 4)What are the best seeds for outdoor growin in toronto.. season is over, but we still have two strains 5) you have all kinds of seeds there and you have random packs... But can i make a custom pack instead because i just want outdoor plants.. (opium, skunk, northern lights, summertime buddha , Kush (ANY) , jack herrier , .... to many to list. When i come to get seeds ill probably want 2-3 of each selected seeds. so depending on the amount of different strains i wanna try out , and the cost of them... looking for deals.... as you see by name i slacked this year i have few but they all shitty and i dont even know what strain it is could be kush or just a random indica but they smell decent so far they are always packed in 5 per package, so that's the minimum quantity, deals? usually no, but never say never

Thanks blueberry skunk, but I don't think this is the problem, but nice try:) The transplanted clones are well rooted and hadn't been under a dome for days. The wilting I'm experiencing at around day 2 after transplanting looks suspiciously like over watering at the beginning, then after letting them dry out for a day or so, (just enough that the pots are light)they started yellowing bottom leaves and the tops of the plants start leaning. I lightly re-watered with maybe 10% nutes. Looking noticeably worse by day 4. I re-watered with 25% veg nutes, then foliar fed because it was quite apparent that these babies were not getting fed by the roots. They are still slowly deteriorating, (the yellowing is moving up the plant, and the tops are dying off) and I've lost at least 50% of them now. The ones that are hanging on aren't happy. As a last resort this morning I watered again with pure water and hydrogen peroxide to see if I got any improvement in what is left. I've basically written off this batch, so if you can think of any experimental solution, I'm willing to give it a go. I just want the next batch to take. I'm loosing sleep thinking about it. If all else fails I'm going to throw out this batch of coco, the nutes I am using, going to sterilize my pots and do another thorough cleaning of my grow space and try again, but I'd really like to get to the bottom of this first. promix

Comments

Hi man, could be that you are lowering the humidity too fast once you have tranplsnted into coco. or bad coco. I have tried to use only coco before (botanicare coco), and my plants died. about the humidity, if you take a clones from a clone dome and plant it without covering it with a dome or misting every 5miniutes, it will have trouble developing roots, and the roots will dry up and rot quickly. Try to ease off the humidity before planting? like slowly areate the dome more everyday unitl you no longer need the dome. and then plant into promix? sorry this is a funny problem.

HELP! After killing off 2 batches of viable clones in a row I've come to the conclusion that I must have a bad case of damping off. I just don't know why?! The details: I transplanted rock wool clones into coco fiber, watered generously with 25% strength cana veg with a touch of fish emulsion. Placed it under 400 MH 3ft away from the light. (It was suggested that the first batch might have been killed by placing the light too close to the newly transplanted clones too early, so I backed it off to about 3 ft. for the this batch. I'm still having problems. Maybe even worse.) I have good air circulation, humidity at 65%, day temps at 80 night 72. Although I've kept the soil moist, it doesn't seem overly wet. I just don't know what to do? After 1 week (this batch) the plants are wilted. The lower leaves are yellowing, and dropping. The top leaves are keeping their green, but the tips are dying. Overall they look like crap. Removing the plants from the coco and inspecting the roots they are brown, and dead or dying. The couple of plants that seem to be holding on have one or 2 healthy looking roots, the rest are dead. If anyone thinks it could be anything other than damping off, I'd like to hear it. If you agree that it is damping off, can anyone tell me why fresh coco fiber with seemingly healthy transplanted clones could end up in such bad shape? Could it be a bad batch of coco? Might it be the fish emulsion is off? I'm at a loss. I've been growing for years, and have never had a problem such as this and its driving me MAD! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please help.

THANKS EVERYONE! sold out page just means we no longer have any, however sometimes I get more and re-post them back without de-listing them from sold out page... the bottom line is that there is only one forum (this one) and this list is the list to check for availability

Sorry for posting so much .Phone was messing up.I picked the sick leafs off and flushed the hell out of her .is there anything else i can do. unfortunately no She just started showing hairs .i added my flower booster and burned her she may never "look" better even if she is indeed recovered... its a matter of faith to just resume feeding her after a good week of leaching... feed half of what you would normally... even if it means getting less yield, better to get clean smoke

I would like to know if real skunk still exists

Comments

My girls just started budding but some of the bottom leafs are turning yellow and burning .Is this nute burn or just leafs shaded and not getting light most likely they are not getting enough light down there and the plant is sort of giving up the those leafs, this is normal so long as the top leafs are not showing any signs of burn which means overfeeding, you could get some bamboo stakes and stake them so the tops spread out a bit to allow some light to get down to the bottom of the plant .thanks

Hi guys, i have some other ideas, instead of buying a old school ballast a conversion bulb for the high red specturm HPS effect, buy a NEW DIGITAL and BALLAST,you can run either a MH bulb or HPS bulb in a digital ballast, conversion bulbs are over priced, and lose lumens, not quite as efficient as a regular bulb. I have experience with using a MH conversion for a oldschool HPS ballast, and it suscks, it takes too long to fire up, and is not as bright as a straightforward MH. Get a digital ballast, its like 50 bucks more, but its worht it. runs cooler, no sounds, fires up in 3 minutes, and safer. the old school ballasts hum and buzz, and take a while to fire up. As for buying used off craigslist, especially buying a used old school on craigslist, dont waste your time. ya, you may save a hundred bucks here and there, but is it worth it if it breaks down? no waranty, so you cant just go to grow shop and get it replaced immediatly if something happens, just in case. ballast components have an hour rating, and loses lumens over time. Also, old school ballasts, if damaged, can be real fire hazards. As for the other dude with the question of why street pot doesnt look like homegrown. Well thats can be true or not true, depending on who you know :). But in most cases "street pot" is grown in large quantities, and less care is taken in trimming and curing. streeet pot is sloshed around in transportation and the buds stick to each other hwen drying. Also street pot is often compressed into bricks Jamaican import is bricked to avoid detection ,this makes it easier to transport and take up less room. Home grow doesnt come out in large enough quantites to require this, more care is taken by our soil brothers in tending to a smaller of plants, home growers are a special breed who take care in their craft, individual buds are trimmined and spread out to dry. there is no need to brick it because, again, it isnt produced in large quantities, and doesnt travel very far. Also make the distinction between outdoor and indoor, street pot is often outdoor, depending on where you live, and outdoor always looks a little shwaggy. If outdoor is bricked, then it looks like green poop!

is the blueberry skunk strain still available? yes

I force flowered my outdoor plant and its going to be hot this summer .it 99 right now. Will i have problems .ive heard they can take 120 it will probably max here at 105 at the most. But i dont know about flowering plants thanks not much you can do unless you can move her in a shade, spray with cold water would help as well, adding B1 to water would help the roots as well...

Comments

Why dont homegrown look like street weed. What do they do to it .Is it from compressing it .I figured that would destroy trics .What i grow gets you high and taste awesome but what i buy from my guy looks like weed .If you get what im saying "professionals" use only 1000W and NEVER any lower wattage as it makes plants stretch and generally less bulky... also they use strains that have been developed for mass consumption (and usually come with proper instructions as to which nutrients work best)... example, if you buy my seeds it will take approximately 1 year before you can have a decent mother and clones necessary to start "mass" production.... or you can just buy those clones off of someone... problem for you is that you need a consistent strain to grow for a year to "learn" her ways... unfortunately this can not be done from seeds but only from mother plants and clones... the process is somewhat detailed... and clones are not legal (unless you have a health canada permit) ..... let me put it this way... in 15 years I do this, out of how many hundreds of strains I grew? I kept only TWO stains long term.... for the first 10 years it was White Shark and for the past 5 it is Ice... once you get that strain that works for you, you never let her go....

Toronto chef look for a 400 watt mh (metal halide) and get 2 bulbs. One a 400 w metal halide and the other a mh to hps 430 w conversion bulb. Then you will be set and need only one ballast. Look for a forced air cooled reflector (approx $ 80.00 new ), a 6 inch can fan ( $ 50.00 used ,make sure the bearings are good no play )and a good carbon filter ($ 50.00 used $ 100.00 new) along with a run of aluminized 6 inch accordian venting tubing ( $ 20.00 )and you are good to go.All this can be found on Craigslist for a fraction of the new cost at the grow stores. EG. if you look sometimes you can find the ballasts for $ 40 to 50.00 used but thats for the old style mag ballasts which are rock steady tried and true tech. Don't be afraid of the old stuff it still works good just need a low tech fan on them to keep them cool.I have bought almost new 1000w hps ballasts for only $ 50.00 each on Craigslist. The problem is they would not light. A trip to the lighting store ( albeit one specialized in the hps/mh dept ) and one $ 20.00 ignitor later they fired right up.Problem with low lumens, one trip to the lighting store again for a capacitor and $ 30.00 lighter in the wallet, viola, like new again. The lights usually come with them, ask the seller. Look at Kijiji also. Since I found Craigslist and Kijiji I buy just about all my stuff I need for my life thru those ads from houses to cars to women it's all there.

Ok another question the hydro store in markham only has 1000w hps and that is way to big for what i need so i was wondering if i could put a 250 hps in there? if not could i switch a 250 watt hps in a 400 watt system? i am having a hard time finding all the proper lighting....... need a little direction thanks everyone and MARK! it is not recommended to switch lights mid cycle, and also remember that switching from 1000W to 250W means losing great deal of yield.... and I hope you know that a ballast for a 1000W light can NOT be used with any other bulb, like a 250W or 400W

Hello Mark and thank you so very much for doing what you do! i was wondering if the seed list is current and if you have any new seeds in stock? I am strongly thinking of northern lights times skunk.. it will be in a grow tent 2 by 2 by 4.5 i know its small but it is what i have to start off with. i am thinking of upgrading the lights it comes with, it comes with the 8 lamp T5 i want a 250 hps in there which will need better fans.... eventually i will have two of these tents side by side, one for flower and one for veg but that is just my indoor fun set up! what are your views on scrog growing? u a fan? method best used for people who bloom with fluorescent lights, I dont so I would not use this method, it is a good method when done right  i am also very interested in outdoor seeds i have lots of time to decide before next outdoor season i am skipping a season this year due to construction in the area and i don't want to give up my stealth northern spot in case one of these ppl stumble apon my goodie patch... i usually just do badseed outdoors but i want a better yield for next year and we are getting a little more serious, fast pine ..any of my strains will do well outdoors, but its up to you to see which one is best for you, I like summertime/buddha has grabbed our interest but i am not to fond of what i have read from other people but i figure 50 beans for a bill u can't go wrong there and they people who had problems with fast pine must be inexperienced or something.... anyway mark i look forward to hearing from you and i thank my friends for pointing me your way, i have read your forum and i am enjoying how you respond to your customers..., also the fact that you replace beans man geez louise u got my business for life finally a reputable business man awesome keep up the fucking great work! please no complements ..... that just attracts critics :-)

Hey Mark. I discovered after 2 grows of seeded bud that my power bar has a red light on the switch which is on during the dark period, is this why i get seeds Thanks. there is always a reason, but improve everything else as well ... you know temps, humidity etc...

Hi mark, what is involved with opening a seedbank? im interested in the industry, i dont want to open a seedbank, but im just wondering how it works. do some dudes travel the world collecting strains, or is a network of underground growers supplying the strains? can you shed some light on how this works? or is jsut independant dudes with greenhouses? thanks! I wish I could share but I can not as cops read this forum as well... but it is just like any other business

Hello Mark, Wondering what strain you may recommend for indoor closet grow with emphasis on sleep promotion? G13/Buddha BUT any strain grown 1 or two weeks longer then recommended will become sleepy rather then euphoric Happy Growing! Teebs.

Mark, my ladies (I hope) are 10 days old and looked very healthy. I noticed to day that two of the 5 have drooping leaves. I had just watered the day before. The soil was dry about 1" below the surface. Is this a result of over watering? I am growing in a mix of vermiculite and planting soil. I have 4, 40 watt fluor tubes (6100K) and 1, 150W cfl. Lights are 1 - 2" above leaves. Temps are 76 - 80* I have watered 3 times including the potting watering. Your help is appreciated depends, IF you water sufficiently enough that water soaks the whole medium then you should not need to water for a week since they are young... so it is possible that you are either mixing too much nutrients for the light you have or they are too wet.... either way, pull back on nutrients and stop watering until they dry out (almost completely) or until you see them (almost) drooping when the mix is dry.....

Hi my plants getting to big and there still 3 months till they will start flowering. Can i force flowering by bringing them in at the 12/12 mark and putting them back out when the sun goes down .im just worried about stress and trying to flower in high summer temps thanks for all your advice you can manually cover the plant EVERY SINGLE NIGHT (I am not kidding, notice my strong emphasis) for 12 hours and uncover for 12... you can NEVER BE LATE by more then half an hour or this whole efforts is for nothing.... I mean FOR NOTHING, but if you do it religiously every single night then she will bloom hopefully without too much stress

Ive heard high heat will cause leafs to grow thin and small is this true the reason i ask is cause i have a plant that looks like a sativia .But we dont get sativias here in texas all indica around here .Temps been about 97 .God i wish i could buy seeds and know what i was growing lol heat will not change the shape of leafs, but it will make plants stretch (UP) and may full some to think its a sativa (the lack of bushiness, and I guess the leafs are not as THICK and FULL as normal which is not necessarily the same thing as being a sativa)... also from seeds (especially unknown seeds) the variety of strains that could occurs is infinite, each seed could be its own strain

Whats better? To put my rooted seed in 1 inch rockwool or 5 inc pots full of pro-mix....also how big should the hole be that im putting the seed in. and how far down in the wockwool or pro-mix should i put the seed in general half an inch down... either rockwool OR promix will work find, keep them wet at the beginning

got a nutrient pen that i use when feeding, butt my question is they been in flowering almost 10 weeks, narly looking buds , but theres no weight the buds you did not add PK-13-14  are real loose there big but no weight at all to them not tight at all, and theres no smell smell is usually a factor of leaching and curing , smells like cutt grass, let it go bone dry, then put in plastic container (opaque) and place in fridge, the longer you keep it there the better the smell will get how long does it take o finish flowering once u putt light on 12/12 USUALLY 8 full weeks, for an average strain, 10 weeks for a sativa, if not sure, cut when all hairs turn dark (or another colour) and how do i get big tight budss with a smeel from hell basic or any brand bud food + bud booster (like PK-13-14)+ sugar (like "sweet") given at the right time in bloom ,seed are chronic and bluberry, temp stays around 80f and drops to72f,the humidity around 40 to 50%

Hi Mark I have 25 seeds that I plainted outside. I dont know the strain now my Q is do I still need to feed them or will mother natuer do it for me . being its a weed and all. I dont plain on going back to look untill september 1 sometime dam hope thay still thair. if you do nothing then nothing will most likely come of it...... you should check once a week.... bring 20-20-20 (mix at 1ml/L) until mid July and 10-30-15 after for feeding...

Hi, sorry what type of strain are you growing again? also lights and stuff? 400W will keep stretching, 1000W will stoping growing at wk3-4 and stuff will fill in with buds. several other factors like how close the light is, intensity, red spectrum, fertilizer, temp (high temp=more stretching) will affect how your plants grow height was, and the spacing between the node. at this point is your plants are getting too tall, you need to use low stress training, and it can actually increase your yield signiicantly, when done in the 3rd wk or bloom. you simple talk the main stalks and tie them down, so they become arced, or point to the side, the plant will right itself out in light cycle, and the curved stalk is now exposed to more light, and the buds from the internodes will develope more. It is important that you: do not break the stalk, or cause and creasing, you need to do this gently, and pick a spot high up on the stalk so will have good flexibility to tie it downwards, or pointing out. make sure the plant is well watered when you do this, so the cell walls will not be fragile and break. you can do this in bloom if done gently enough without problems, i can attest to that. A 6 foot tree became 4 feet with several smaller, but more frequent colas. good luck.

Bluberry, thank you so much for your detailed reply in April, have been having some technological difficulties since. I am in bloomin' week 3, all is going well, but when will they stop growing??? I am afraid of them poking out my chimney...hb

whats the typical cfm for 8 inch inline fan.... there is no "typical", can-fan brand does about 400 to 600 CFM depending on model, ...I can only find a 10" example but this same line/brand makes really compact and strong 8" fans .... also if you find a fan too strong get a dimmer to slow it down

best fertilizer: doesnt have to be anything fancy, just get a granular organic tomato fertilizer 4-5-6, 3-4-6, whatever. Just plant in decent organic soil and mix with fertilizer into the top 2-3 inches of soil around the base. clones: yes you can take clones from plant outside now, but try to take them from the lower branches, and not any bit stems, because you want those keep developing and get the biggest buds! lastest to plant: plant clones until early july?, your yield will go down the longer you chose to wait, also buds may not fully devlope before mold/frost sets in.As for seeds, get on that as soon as possilbe, hope this helps!

sorry. my blackberry was malfunctioning. you posted this from a blackberry? I'm surprised this site did not crash (the universe :-)

hi got a couple of questions iam going to start palnting outside not sure about the fertilizer "20-20-20" mixed at 1ml per litre of tap water, water once a week usualy, mid July switch to "10-30-15"  and i don't want to spend that much money are their any ways to do this. the nutrients are cheap, but do not overfeed, stick to 1 ml per litre and what the latest i can plant out side end of June and can i take clones from the ones i have outside already. not after the 10th of July (or so)

Shit. I don't have the packaging any more. They were these little tan envelopes that said 'st' , 'jf', and 'ww' on them.. Please tell me this will work bc my seeds packets are loooong gone :(.usually, or 90% of the time Also is it too late in the season to start growing outdoors? outdoors from seeds? yes

nah man i got this plant that i had for awhile in veg, and only now topped it a week ago, and its starting to show white hairs. But its still on18/6,1.5 feet tale,.. sour D!? it is a good sign its a female, but not a 100% sign, it could also be a hermie (knock on wood)

Comments

Jim did you read the grow guide on this site? If you did you would know what to do! Take A cutting,Root it in 24/7 light then Bloom it in 12 on 12 off light then you will see you sex...; Hopefully its female :-)

Comments

are you able to tell the sex of your plant in veg? sometimes, but it is highly unreliable, some strains just burst with female genitalia and some show absolutely nothing ... so you can not just depend on early signs, the only reliable method is to take a clone and bloom the clone under a fluorescent (or whatever) light....

I had a giant plant and my great dane got it .Ripped it all up but 3 bottom branches ,he got about 85 percent of it.but its still alive .Should i just count it as a loss and do you know anything that keeps dogs away thanks mark if there is still some foliage, the plant should survive, I mean it is a weed, so long as some roots are there and some leafs the plant will live.... but you should feed her very lightly for a week or so, if you feed her a regular dosage of nutrients the lack of foliage could burn off the remaining leafs... bottom line, no nutrients for a week.... small barbed wire fence keeps dogs and other critters away

Comments

Ok so I'm pretty much screwed. I bought 10 white widow (forgot what its crossed with), 10 juicy fruit x northern lights, and 10 summertime x buddha seeds and less then half of all of them germinated. I remember reading somewhere on you page you guys do refunds... My cousin is going to go in and pick them up for me within the week at sublime. They will do the refund correct? we do free replacements, bring the packaging they came with and you can get free seeds

Comments

I was wondering Mark if you could answer me a question. Giving you one seed and one fresh cutting from the same strain and pots the same size and the light the same. Everything the same except one plant will be a clone and another from seed with one do you think would turn out the best yield?  Thank you And what Strain would you use out of your seed bank ? it would not be a fair comparison ... stared from seed, a plant takes longer time to mature to appropriate size in order to bloom as compared to a clone which is ready to bloom immediately after rooting.... so if I take a new clone and bloom it at 2 or 3 inches it would yield more then a plant from seed bloomed at 2-3 inches...  also, if I wait ..say 2 weeks to veg both a seed and clone, in this period a clone would be far bigger and bushier then a plant started from seed in this same 2 week period..... so the advantage of a clone is that its ready to go to bloom sooner then a plant started form seed, as you know it can take a month and often longer to get from sprouting to veging to starting bloom, but it may take a clone 2 weeks to get to equivalent size.... HOWEVER if I can be unfair for a moment... if I take a plant started from seed and grow it out to appropriate size and then compare that to a plant OF THE SAME SIZE started from seed the plant from seed should yield more...

Success g13xbuddha girl… is the flowering time 8 weeks for this little lady? yes, END of week 8 Any other suggestions outside your grow guide on this strain? she does not like over feeding, so don't push her, use bamboo stakes to prop them up in week 3 of bloom (you'll get bigger buds), in week 3 to 6 add sugar, brand is irrelevant but this is the one I use and it adds .... flavour and yield Thanks Mark

On May 20th, I posted that I had not yet received my product. Mark posted Apologizing and explained why the delay in shipment. Thank you Mark, I received my product last Thursday (May 27), on Sat, I started germination of 5 seeds. Monday morning, 3 had root and by Monday evening all 5 had germinated. Tuesday morning I placed germinated seed in Soil and vermiculite mix and this morning, Wednesday, 4 of the sprouts have popped through the top....they'll be going under lights this morning. Already there is one that is over an inch high. I'm very happy. Thanks Mark and now its up to me. This is my second garden...my first died from lack of attention while on short holiday. This one will not die!! life, what a beautiful choice :-)

also here is my e-mail so u contact me just in case i might say something on this public forum that u don't wont out there. also i keep on getting this error that says FrontPage Error. User: please report details to this site's webmaster. Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details. it makes it seem like u didn't post but u did that's why there are multiple posts.(iam using firefox) multiple post do not bother me as this is an old website and I'm sure there is bugs... re; jamanite and all other disatisfied clients. In my opinion Mark deserves more respect than that, we are all brothers after all believing in the same thing. Mark being a great teacher online and who runs a great cafe with great staff, has been a huge help. I have not seen a seed bank owner give a shit for the cause as much as Mark and spend hours replying to all questions and complaints. I think respect will take you further. To Mark, keep up the good work, you help 1000's out there customers or not, your efforts are really appreciated. Your Fan GREEK GOD peace love and grooviness please

i ma not demanding seeds here was just asking, did not say it was his(seeds) fault or my fault just wanted to know if he could. people around here like assuming that iam demanding things when iam not just asking a question. i had Hindu kush and fast pine sprouting forgot to water them they died iam not asking for replacement seeds for them cause i know that was my fault u would think after spending almost $300 (Hindu kush fast pine summer time and g 13) on seeds it would not be a problem this is your assumption and had you called me it would be true, but when you start with denigrating comments I am less inclined to honor anything, you also presume that when you buy 2 cases of beer the store somehow owes you free glass of wine too, why? to send me like 5 pack mixed seeds but i guess it is so if i got no answer i would have thought to my self that's understandable but when i get a reply stating that iam implying shit and that iam demanding seed replacements it really pisses my off. so keep up the good work in pissing people off iam sure then he will be rolling in money you know nothing of me, and if I did this for money I should have quit long ago, matters little to me whether you believe what motivates me to do what I do...... but the whole thing comes down to this, you chose to voice your problem on a public forum and you gave me no chance to fix it behind the scenes, no business wants even a perception of quality seeping out .... I said perception, I can guarantee they are real and they will sprout, you do the rest.... it is easy to post disparaging comments on a public forum while hiding behind anonymity.....

Comments

All Mark is saying is that in spite of your declaration that "I followed the guide to the letter" - you did stress them somehow because they look stressed. All airy and sickly (do you use a bud fortifier? doesnt look like it). Why should seed sellors hafta pay for your mistakes? How Are they supposed to make a profit? Most offer no guarantees beyond any failures to germinate. If you buy a bag of flour and then burn the muffins, are you going to go back to Loblaws and complain about the flour they sell? CMON!!

Comments

first i know that they r seeds when u squeeze them they are hard i cut down a plant let it dry and pulled them off i will take pics of the seeds so u can see so u can see 4 your self. second i was not implying anything just asking didn't know that would be a problem was just asking if u could send me a mixed pack eg different strains cause of the problems ive been having since u claim to replace liberally next time yes or no answer would great not some asshole reply the forum is for information about growing, IF you call me you would have received replacement seeds by now... the reason I hate when people bitch on this forum is that .... 1. takes bloody time to respond, and 2. makes me look like I don't give a shit about customers .....and in the end did you not admit that you had problems independent of the quality of seeds? It is true I am on the edge after 2 clubs in a row get busted..... but please just call me if you had any problems, I dare anyone to tell me I refused replacement when you called me, anyone?

this is just another example of how the municipalities put up roadblocks and hurdles for people who just want to grow some pot for their own purposes. I swear, if I was in a position of being with illness - and had to choose between all this BS and just growing a plant or two illegally, I'd just go that route. damn these archaic, draconian laws anyway it gets worst for the guy but each jurisdiction is different

Busted in Vaughan; wasn't stealing power, so cops left power company alone, however Fire Inspection, and City Inspector had issued a no habitation notice. To remain in the home, I must hire someone approved by city to confirm the air in the basement is okay, and an architect must write a report stating the fireplace which was used to vent is okay and up to code. (it just has a board over it and hasn't been altered in any way!) So with the architect and air report I need a building permit, and they will allow me to re-enter?? Anybody, know a air person whom I can call or have any idea how much time it takes to test air and get results?? I'm trying to find out now, and/or looking for a place to live!!! 905-664-9400 Gain Restoration Group, cost around 10K+ if you do a lot of your own stuff like cleaning, if not then it may cost more, justice is not with you

where can yu get these filters? the company is out of business I believe (I'm old and this is an old website,, sorry), the smallest can filter I feel is worthy of use is can 33 (call them and ask if thy have something smaller) from Can-Filter, i believe the company makes smaller then that, but I seem to fail to find it readily online, may be its called can 15?

i am growing summertime buddah outdoors should i put mulch around it ...only if the top soil dries out quickly, and yes if you do not normally add nutrients to your water when you water them,.... it may require nutrients if the leafs look light green and/or almost yellow.. IF your plants look solid healthy darkish green then you need NOT to add mulch as it may at that point be too much nutrients....
