Ok so I am ph'ing ..using blue lab pen..120.00 bucks...Q..is it not better to go to Promix HP instead of BX now.....won't buffering done by Promix BX be unnecessary and maybe worse by reducing correct PH nut's further...??? Q number 2 and A IT'S A BIGGY ..issue 25 / 2011 Treating YourSelf mag [ author Joe Pietri } has article that claims 18/6 or 24 hrs light for grow unnecessary ......as well as 12/12 for bud...claims we should use the table below... [ only stretches plants etc and/or mostly for electrical savings I think ] ...for veg/ grow...only need 13 hours on lights....then they say..use 12-1 lighting..which is 12 hours on..5.5 hours off...1 hour on...then 5.5 hour off then repeat schedual ..apparently the 1 hour on fools the plants into thinking growth state...so 5 hours energy saved PER DAY..35 hours /week....etc thats a lot!! In bud use 11 hour on and 13 off.....save an hour a day what do you think??

Hello Mark, Thanking you in advance for answering my questions. I have a couple. 1) Happy to say my foray into green crack has worked it seems. Crazy stone. Almost got my 1P per light. My friend is telling me I should switch to blueberry kush as it produces more volume. Would you agree with that? Is blueberry a 7 week plant as well? FYI - My white shark still remains a pain. Big plant with a lot going on but it just doesn't get supper tight buds, even with heavy feeding. Big buds that just don't get dense. 2) Ever hear of Wappa strain? I was impressed with bud size. Haven't harvested yet but it looks serious. Can you comment on it's number of weeks to harvest and if it is a desirable strain? 3) My last question is in regards to power usage. I have been running six 1000 watt lights for 5 years with a full on veg system to compliment. I estimate 7000watts with fans on bloom and 2000watts on the veg side. Power bill is $1,300.00 every two months or $650 monthly. Is this high enough to warrant attention from Hydro? Never a peep from them in 5 years. I know you have said as long as you pay your bill you are OK and I agree from my past experience. However I am now looking at putting in a 24,000 btu air conditioner. This will add an estimated 2000 watts. Q) Am I getting crazy on power consuption? Am I risking getting flagged by Hydro in this middle class suburb? Please advise. I will drop roughly 1000w worth of intake/exhaust fans as the AC will do their work. Thank you, Problem Child

I purchased two different strains of seeds from you. It has been a good month or more and all of the seeds from one package are already growing while the other seeds are not even sprouting. I placed all of the seeds in the same wet paper towel so it is safe to say that all of the seeds were treated in the same way. What are my odds of getting new seeds for no cost to me? I've been a grower for 30 years and have never seen this happen.

Hey I have to say promix is the way to go simple and problem free. Ok iI had a few quick questions for you I was wondering how long can marijuana be stored and still maintain most of its potency? Is THC only found in the trichomes ? Lately when I am starting cuttings on a plant that is hard to start cuttings of I have been putting three or four cuttings into one block of rockwool. Later if more than one takes I keep the biggest strongest one and cut the others down, witch seems like a shame, I was wondering if it would be ok to let them all grow or will the roots choke each other out?

hi, im a first time grower i tried once and failed miserably! I am trying to grow in my closet. I do have a 400watt halogen bulb in a work lamp first will this work? and at 24/7 a day will this greatly increase the bill which i am not paying, i am also living with my parents at the moment so they cannot catch on. I cant keep the closet open so will a single fan in the closet work? Lastly and maybe the most important thing of all is there anyway for me to controll the height of the plant? I went to your cafe and bought two packs of your feminized Northern lights. I am wondering if the rare earth seeds Northern lights is the #5 strain or not? On my package it just said NL || with two lines , could that mean #2? I want to just know exactly my strain. Thanks!

Started with Aerogarden switched to Sunblaze T5 4light system in my small closet with promix and have just one plant currently (seed from the street) exploring possible pitfalls to this personal pleasure enterprise before my purchased G13's take to the soil. Finding this fun but a little bit of work with my mystery plant now standing a full 8" and in 3rd day of bloom waiting for my chance to determine sex. I supercropped and pruned as suggested (x2) over a week ago. The plant seems healthy/happy however leaves on top part of canopy turned yellow at the tip. Mark am I too close to my T5's (between 1nch 2 from lamps)?...is this overfeeding? overheating (the small closet is a challenge keeping below 30c)

i had a problem with one of the packs of seed . i bot 2 packs of seed from your rare earth seed . one was the NL #5 and the bubble gum have bot many time at your old store no problem with the NL#5 but the bubble gum had no luck germante them not one poped out have you had any other reports of the same or is it just me . my skills are normaly supreme. at the end of the day the money is no a big deal but the drive down is hell of a long way please right back shaun.miller25@gmail.com thank U

I have four kids, the last being twins and most likely my cause for needing medical MJ is the pain in my back from being 80+ lbs heavier for many months further damaging my previous spinal injury layered with three degenerate spinal conditions. I want to stay off the heavy pain meds and I more than qualify for whatever pain control I ask for. I would like to smoke about a gram a day and would like no one else to know, or handle my medication. I want a plant or two in my basement. I already run half a dozen heat lamps for my exotic pets and am a good gardener so I should be okay doing this as long as I follow good guides and read up the right info. I have heard that as soon as I get my card to grow however that the police would be all over me. I don't want to get arrested on suspicion of trafficking. I have been arrested wrongly a few times, once for a bomb threat, once for an assault that never happened, and on 911 for terrorism because I left school upset that day. None of these times did I do any wrong but still I was treated like a criminal for doing nothing. Just because people thought I looked like the kind of person who would. I am a tattoo artist and I'm Native Canadian, so I get some racial and lifestyle judgment so the last thing I need is a swat team assuming Im a drug dealer and scaring my kids just so I can avoid taking serious pain pills. I would rather be in pain than risk my kids losing me on false drug charges. I heard of one guy who had an under cover officer come to buy from him. He gave the officer a little and went to jail. I won't share or sell but I don't want an under cover officer at my door I have better things to do than get watched or recorded because I smoke pot for severe back pain. I mean really? Or is my friend that said this just a paranoid stoner. He has like fake body parts and is pretty much dying but is afraid to get his medical card because he thinks he will go to jail or lose his family. Just as every thing starts with a grain of truth, is he speaking from reality here? Am I going to end up in jail for my medication if I'm not careful? I have a doctor looking at my back in 10 days who will sign, we spoke already I'm able to get pretty much any amount I want my back is really horrible, should I do the Medical Marijuana ?

Hi I drove from xxxxxxxxxxxx to buy seeds on Saturday. I got back home today and opened my pack of AK 47 seeds and only found 4. I thought there would be 5. What can I do? I can not mail to usa but I will gladly give you a new one (and open it there to make sure its all there)

I'm going to start my grow indoors this year then move outside and have a few questions. I have limited space so the plants can't get over 7". The date I want to take them out would be around may 24 with a week of acclimatization included. I plan to use Sunblaster Lamp 24w (2') T5 how many weeks do you think I should start so they could reach an optimal height without getting to tall. Also I could use up to 4 of those lamps a few inches apart, do you think I would need 4 or could get by with less. 18/6 or 24/0 ? Should I use any nutrients during these weeks? Growing Fast Pine. at best start sometimes in early march even February... in order to get a coupe of solid mothers going first... if not then you can start in early April... I would definitely suggest doing mothers and not just from seeds to T5s....

just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a good feminized strain that would grow good in the nova scotia area?? have grown fast pine with great results but I'm tired of all that work then pulling a male out of the ground unless someone knows where I can get some feminized fast pine seeds but this is the only site I can find fast pine when mark has them and there not feminized?? any help would be appreciated.... Rosetta stone was made for this, its feminized, and big.. there is also AMS .. not sure the price is justified compared to Rosetta....

It obviously depends on what lights you grow your mother under...if T5's it will take several months [ and is a bad idea/ takes too long and stretches the plant too much ] ...with 1000 watts a couple of weeks...might I suggest that you need to super crop a mother plant more than once[ why you see others with mother plants that look like tree's or bushes...trimmed properly as it goes along ]...you should not try to grow a mother plant b/c you need the clones in a few weeks...a good mother takes a little longer I clip clones off my new mother as it grows planning the plants growth stages but I don't depend on the new mother for clones until its bigger..so I never kill off my old mother until the new one is substantial...therefore I will takes clones off both old mother and new mother but usually only a few clones off the new mother for a while// pls. watch this video and see if the extra foliage the mother inevitably generate can be put to good use

Thanks for the PH info...further to this is my Q about testing methods.... ......the gamit of products from test strips to drop solutions to ph meters is extensive.......I am sure the test strips and drops are great for beginners growing tulips but I see them as inadequate and just not very accurate indeed, test strips are inaccurate for our purpose ....so as for meters they run from 40 bucks to 700 bucks.. how long does it take to get a decent size mother plant??? you can take the first clone off at about 6-8 inches, but to get from there to say 30 clones every 2 weeks under a 400 or 100W MH... 4 months...

i have powdery mildew and i have some garden sulphur how much should i use in how much water? DO NOT use sulphur in BLOOM, in VEG it will work just fine and get rid of the mildew but in BLOOM the sulphur WILL destroy the smell and smoke (as in make it completely unsmokable) ..... the only thing you can do is to spray with a lot of water every 3 days.... mildew will die IF drowning in water but re-appear when humidity returns so its a temporary solution not a fix... (if you are member of time I have a solution for bloom but only for members, sorry)

The reason I ask you is there seems to be a lot of expert opinion out there..all qualified growers....some say 5.1 to 5.9 never over [ 5.1 clone/ 5.9 veg / 5.5 bud ] ...some say veg 6.5 and bud 5.5 ...I have read some other answers but maybe you could clarify ?? maybe at pro level and comment on equip too please..ie., ph meter brand to strip ph kits/ accuracy ..thanks....etc,etc,... merry christmas The acceptable range for veg is from 6.8 to 6.0 (7.0 is tap water)... for convenience I keep it at 6.5 in promix.... in bloom I start at 5.8 in week 1, drop it to 5.4 in week 2 or 3 and take it to 5.2 in week 4 to 8 (so the acceptable range is from 5.8 to 5.2)... again I often settle for an average of 5.5 and it seems totally ok (I'm not a stickler).... when it comes to cloning I do not pH at all and get fully rooted clones in 7 to 10 days with 95% success rate.... I have a disagreement with other growers as to the very necessity of pH-ing the water for clones.... I simply see no evidence to pH the water for clones.... this is the thing: if you give clones "perfect" environment why would they create roots at all? there has to strategic stress for the clones to "need" to create clones.... I find that in a "perfect" (as in pH-ed water) environment the plants tent to get their nutrition through humidity and not so much through the stem and they just do not root (as quickly or ever)... so I try to make the water "pleasant" enough for them to live but just "stressful" enough to force clones to "seek" another "better" environment.... in any case, that's what I do
