Ok Mark here is a good one....hydro put up a notice on my building that on Sept 5 [ sept 8 bad weather lol] that there will be a 10 hour power outage for pole upgrade/whatever lol .......right in the middle of my bud time...9 am onward..[and ya..as if 10 hours..hydro guys..12 + ] so my Q is what is my best course of action....they of course advise us to be ready ..security alarms/ computers etc but they just dont mention anyone who has a shit load of bud growing LOL...my 12 hours is 5.30 am to 5.30 pm..forget my veg girls on 18/6...do I just hope...they get the fuckin power back on ASAP!!.. OR do I have to like ...take them freakin lunch and/or beer.??? ...:( ..... should I change my 12 hours to say 9 pm to 9 am and avoid this whole shit and finish budding on this time....>???I hate the idea of putting my girls through STRESS right at the point their juices are really flowing ya...I lean towards changing my hours how stressfull is this in week 3/4....what else can i do?? Thx dude
Hi Mark: Does the way one harvests effect yield because I know they are a few different ways. In my situation would it be better to cut each individual bud off each of the plants NO & hang it by string or just leave the whole plant as is & hang it upside down in a dark place without cutting anything off? you can cut off the leafs if you want to, but leave the buds on the stem.. BUT whether you cut off the leafs or not its wont make much difference,... what makes for a good cure is the fact that you hang it upside down in the dark... everything else is less relevant..

I mostly get 2- 3 oz per plant.. grown like Mark instructs...really big plant ya maybe 150 gr..that's 5 oz so big and healthy not so much how many plants..room full 50 plants 1 foot tall or room full 20 plants 3 foot tall...ya that 1000w=1.2 prettty close
1000W equals 1.2 pounds....2000W 2.4 etc....most strains 150 gr/plant.....depends on strain but you are correct
can moldy weed be salvaged...no.. you risk getting a lung problem.. don't...
I am in bud..do you think 60 percent humidity is good. ...its ok, not optimum, better to be lower but this being summer, its acceptable...
I have a question about my 1000 watt light. Does my 240 volt ballast consume 1000 watts too. ...the total power consumed is the same whether you have 110V (120V) or 220V (240V)... the load however is a little lower on a 220V ballast... 1 or 2 amps less load.. which is not the same as actual power consumption... Do the light and ballast run together...yessssss.... but I don't think I understand the question correctly...

A 600W light in a maximum space of 16 square feet is expected to yield from 8 to 16 ounces of dry bud every 2 to 3 months. A 1000W light in a maximum space of 25 square feet is expected to yield from 16 to 32 ounces of dry bud every 2 to 3 months. QUESTION: if I was growing with 2 HPS AND MH lights 1000W EACH 2 lights total 2000w. in a 10 by 5 area 50 sqf total (and a little space to move around). say i was growing indica 8 female plant total. would each PLANT harvest that much NO or the 25 sqf area harvest that much. YES (A 1000W light in a maximum space of 25 square feet is expected to yield from 16 to 32 ounces of dry bud every 2 to 3 months.) would i harvest around 1.5 to 2 pounds off each of these 8 indica females. no, total yield from 8 plants NOT PER PLANT 8 plants= 12 to 16 pounds. or would i harvest 1.5 to 2 pounds from one space of 25 sqf. 3 to 4 pounds from these 2 1000w lights. exactly

Hey Mark. I posted a message earlier about some Kush seeds I bought. I actually bought so NL x SK and Kush. The NL x SK are doing great. Very nice seeds. I want to thank the guy that recommended them but the Kush seeds didn't pop. Only 1 out of the 5 popped. The seeds looked immature and the one that popped isn't doing to good. very slow growth. You have responded to my original post saying that if they didn't pop that I could get a few replacements. How would I go about doing this. have you heard of the lowryder strain do you know of any other auto flowering strains, to make it auto flower you need to cross inferior quality strain from eastern Europe .. rutheralis.. which is not the best for smokers.. think ditch weed.. are they worth it to grow no, I could say many negative things about this subject but to be politically correct... its not all its cracked up to be...
My MMAR just arrived for 5g/day (25 plants). I plan to veg for a 4 - 6 weeks from clones, and then flower for 2 months. I will have 3 lamps each 1000w HPS and a 400w metal halide going back and forth on a light mover. I will be growing in promix with rather large planters. With a setup like this, what do I need to know about nutrients? Do you need nutrients for promix? YES of course... one type for veg and 2 types for bloom... primary and secondary for week 3 to 6 of bloom only.....Can you get by without them NO and what impact would neglecting them have on yield, plants will go yellow and die..quality, pest control, etc. If it is a good idea to go with nutrients, which ones should I get for the different stages, and most importantly, for one complete cycle with the above mentioned veg/flower times and with 25 plants and a total of 3400w of lighting, how many litres or gallons of the various nutrients should I have on hand (would like to get everything for one or two cycles all at once from my local hydro store)....see the links for brands... for one cycle get 1 Gallon containers Max.. any bigger and the food will go bad because its organic ..keep the nutrients in the fridge and SHAKE like crazy before mixing, again because its organic... also get yourself a syringe (the bigger one) to mix nutrients correctly.. 1 ML (as labeled on bottles) = 1 CC (as used on Syringe) Sorry for asking this here, no worries but try to put individual questions so I can catch a breath :-) but I can see from reading this forum that you are doing this to actually help people and provide meaningful info, whereas I worry a hydro store might have a conflict of interest and try to upsell me. ...in Toronto Hydroptech will not upsell you IF you mention Toront420, they know what I teach....they should pay me but they are good people... Any nutrient-related advice would be great...ONE tip: plants may not need nutrients all the time BUT when they need only water you should still mix in a little bit of food ... 10% of normal dosage is usually best, this little bit of nutrients will prevent many potential problems, like nutrient lock...this advise does not apply to the very end of the bloom cycle when you have to give them plain water to leach them... Lastly, I plan to actually start growing around October so that the heat has died down a bit. good idea..If I have one 500 CFM fan big enough that would blow air out of the room and would be up high near the ceiling again good idea.. (note: room is 10x10x10), and one 200 CFM fan sucking cold air in, and one 9000 BTU air conditioner. ..may not be necessary in autumn ..I hear you need 4000 BTU per light, true but I'm wondering if that is only during the summer? exactly If it is October when I start I can use only one lamp so would have no problem with heat, and by the time they are big enough (1 month or so) I would flip them into flowering. of course If I had the lights on only at night when it is colder outside, would my 200 CFM fan bringing cold, november, night air in along with my 9000 BTU air con and a 500 CFM fan sucking hot top-of-room air out, would I be able to stay within the safe temp and humidity range? I think that in October you wont need any A/C and you seem to have enough CFM to maintain temperature properly... i have a few friends each with their own mothers, about 6 different strains in total. i'm wondering if i can grow multiple strains in the same grow room as long as they are marked, of course you can I do all the time.. or if this would mess things up...some may need more nutrients, some less, but overall keep the nutrients on the low end and give some plants more as yellowing appears... to be more precise.. I would probably use an organic nutrient (less chances to burn those that are delicate) and simply use what it says on the lable.. not more, not less... chances are that at this level any Indica will appear a bit yellow and any sativa will show burnt tips.. ... i would put them all in at the same size (just baby clones). i guess i could veg them all at the same time, when in veg...sativa-like-plant will be way taller then an Indica plant... and switch to flowering at the same time, of course.. but may need to leave some in the room longer depending on the flowering time for each plant...yes and no.. all the species you have are 8 weeks of bloom...8 weeks is this "magical" number where 90% of plants I'm aware of bloom .... please confirm that i have the right idea, you do and if you have any other tips or things i should watch out for then please let me know. Of the strains there are white widow, cinderella 99, babylonian, sunshine and pot of gold. Anyone know the major differences or have a rating for them in terms of potency, yield, flowering time and sativa/indica ratio? I noticed that you folks at TIME have Sour Diesel and White Shark. Are these better than the ones mentioned above?.. better?.. I keep strains least hated by most people.. like everything else in life take 10 people and you will get 10 opinions.. if 6 out 10 people don't bitch about a strain its a keeper.... if so, in what way? any idea of flowering times or appropriate size to veg to before flowering for best results? overall I would not let them get taller then 15 (indica) to 20 (sativa) inches before bloom...so many questions...very sorry, and thank you kindly in advance for my anticipation of professional advice for an amateur like me :)
I was wondering if I can use both natural sunlight and florescents to achive a decent veg this late in the season... of course.. alternating between fluorescent and sunshine is pretty good... BUT the very first time you introduce sunlight the plants need to "get used" to it.. as in place them in the indirect sun for few hours the very first time.. in this conext wilting means too much sun.. pull them back ...
Just a few things ! First I purchased my Hindu Kush Seeds from Toronto420 back on the 2nd of Aug. The link I entered is a link to another site where I have a grow journal of one of the Hindu Kush seeds side by side with another strain (unknown bagseed). Anyway this post wasn't about a shameless self promo, lol..I do have a question for Mark I believe it is :) So I'm growing in Soil and have a limited FINAL height of approximately 40 inches. I realize when I switch to 12/12 the plant will double if not triple. ....it really depends on the species and the light... generally under 600W and 400W they stretch way more then under a 1000W.. under a 1000W they usually double (if that).. ...So I guess my question is with the height requirement I have what veg length would you suggest ? I'm running on 18/6 cycle. My present idea is to Veg till the plant is between 12 - 15 inches...I agree.. keep them short first time around and see if you could get them slightly bigger next time if necessary... but most times I actually tell people to bloom at 15 inches whether you have limited space or not... I am growing 8 Juicy Fruit x Northern Lights x Skunk. Room 7' by 11' and 8' tall. I got them under 2 1000watt HPS. 4 plants under one 1000wats. 12 gal buckets for each with Promix feeding is good. 8 weeks vegging I cut them on the 4th week now they 3 1/2 feet tall the look like they can produce more than a pound but what you think. Im going to bloom for 8 to 9 weeks. expected harvest height 5 to 6 feet. do you think each plant will produce that much or less .... you should get 2 pounds total from 2 lights (if you get more its a bonus)... no matter how many plants and how big they get... 3.5 feet is too tall .. the light can only penetrate so far into the canopy so generally we flower the plants at 1.5 feet tall so they end up at 3 may be 4 feet in the end... any bigger then that and its not like the plants will die or anything but their tallness is wasted.. i.e. unnecessary... with the size of your plants the overall size of the main bud will be huge.. but that does not mean the overall yield will be more... in general growing plants taller then 3 feet under any HID lights is a waste of time....
Ive got 2 females flowering for 14 days now. I wanna swith the cycle back to veg is that possible for them. don't do that it will really stress the plant... if you do it may take a week to recover back to veg or it may take two months...who knows.. I switched the light back to 19 on 5 off. what will happen to them will they adapt or keep producing bud. no, they will not produce any bud.. 19 ON or 18 or 20 or 24 is all the same.. its veg time.. so they have stopped bloom and began veg... doing this back and forth will kill a plant

Sorry Mark I was going to ask as well.. do you have like, " grow room cloths" ..I mean I know no one bothers when popping in and out of rooms but if you were planning to spend some time for what ever.. would you change????.. I change in order not to get my normal clothes dirty, I don't really think of mites when I do this... in theory I should, in practice, who cares... I'm not allergic, mites are in check and its not like I go from from grow room to grow room to grow room... RE mites etc..maybe even smell on cloths later when harvesting..etc..etc... TX...you can smell mold and even overfeeding but not mites.. the only way I know how to spot mites in the bud is... when you smoke it the mites spark or make tiny tiny explosions.. big word.. but its like a tiny firecracker :-)... dangerous .. no.... funny yes..
Hey Mark, I purchased 10 white shark seeds they all sprouted. Unfortunately, it appears that 7 are male and I have two that look like they are hermie, I used two 40 watt flourescent lights at 24 hours. What is your policy on returns???? I have purchased seeds from you twice previous to the white shark and had no difficultys then. 7 out of ten were female both times. I have the package still. What next? if both grown right in same way which one give you more yield, Northern Lights x Buddha ....less yield, better smoke, like this one better or your Fat Skunk...too generic bud but better yield... yield not good enough to like plant... And can you tell me which one you would prefer. thanks mark.
Mark, Sorry for the lack of date. I'm old school...I like dirt!!! Still learning about Hydro. I just purchased 5 mothers "cheese", they are over 4' and have put out some awesome clones. The clones are still a few days old and will be dropped in soil once I see some healthy roots. Thanks again my favourite method would be 20 plants per 1000W in 10 inch containers, bloomed probably after 1 (or 2) weeks of veg... you should end up with 1.5 ft. tall little Christmas trees...
hey mark...powder or gel what do YOU prefer? prefer powder (no.2) ... but I used it all honestly and there is no difference.. really.. the only reason I use powder is because its cheap, lasts forever, never goes bad and .. did I say its freaking cheap.. that's because there is only one ingredient that actually roots the plant, all rooting brands have it but what medium (powder or gel or liquid) it comes in is irrelevant..
SOOO since mites are technically spiders then spraying the house with Pyrethrin sorry for the spelling around base boards etc .I guess you can do that, but find out first whether this stuff is humans friendly, its one thing to spray it in a ventilated grow place but house may be a different thing... would not be a bad idea?? maybe have a lab coat type of thing to go in room..ok maybe thats over the top but....just thought I had a lot of itching lately.... rather then use pyrethrin find some raid or similar stuff.. raid kills everything (so it will cover all mites and other potential creatures) and it "claims" its human friendly.. or at least you can sue someone else :-)... and in the end its much cheaper since you may have to cover a large area..
........ Question: how much electrical can the average consumer increase per month before a red flag goes up to interested parties. I am running One 400 watt bulb .........would running two or three 400s be a risk or are the police interested in Huge Grows only . from experience I can tell you there is only one reason police will come to your door.. that reason is - people... its the landlord or neighbor or your "friend" or your (pissed off) girlfriend who will call the police .. never ever have I actually seen anyone get busted because the electrical company complained about someone using too much electricity.. as long as you pay your bills the electrical companies do not give a shit.. really... ? ( Thanks Very much ..... small-time TED ) ...cops count plants ONLY.. they may not even be aware most times which light is what light thus number of lights is not really relevant when it comes to actually being charged... example: 1 x 400W light and a tray of clones (100 plants) gets you the same charges as a warehouse of 20 x 1000W lights and 100 mature plants... stupid.. now I will try to answer your question: ... a person living in a house/condo/dwelling consumes as much electricity as a 1000W light running on a 12/12 cycle.. so if your dwelling is .. 1 bedroom designed for 2 adults .. that's like 2000W is ok.. 2 bedrooms are designed for 2 adults and 2 kids... something like 3000 to 4000W... house is usually good up to 6000W ... that's in order to be seen as any other house/condo...
Mark, Just set up a 6' light track with 2-1000w lights. I expect to run the max. about of girls under this system, any advice on this system? In terms of uniform growth, time I should run and yield? Thanks Mark...further to that I notice..not every time I go into my room..but a lot I feel little bites/itches( mostly if have to be down "in" plants like spraying mite juice..NOT just in room)..and will get a little ..LIKE a mosquito bite but much smaller. if this is mites that's a bit of an IF, most mites are species specific ..i.e. the mites that like to eat out dead skin cells wont eat leafs and those that eat leafs wont eat skin.. there is also mites for dogs and cats that wont touch human skin... usually these mites are not dangerous to people... BUT if you are more allegric then others then you may have a problem.... this may mean you are just allergic to mites in general... and it matters little which are attacking you... cleaning everything is the only thing you can do... if you have carpets you will have big problems....are they like mosquitoes and are biting for reproduction blood..not really, just allergic reaction, it does feel like a sting.... ..after bites would it be a good idea to spray to head off those eggs..?? can we treat them like lice with kids ..just wash every thing yes, this works best for people with allergic reactions... some people have special clothes JUST for the garden so they wont spread any mites to others......and oh ya I AM one of the guy's that swear by 72 F ..and is what I try to aim for that temp wise I find my crop are A1 usually a lot more than my buddies growing the same amount like I have twice the yeild..of course mostly b/c I have more lights HID etc..lol..just like to know more about dealing with mites ...not on plants thx...I follow a routine: I spray (with anything that contains Pyrethrin) EVERY time 1. when clones are 1 week old. 2. when they are 1 month old... 3. 1 week before going into bloom and repeat in 6 days after... sometimes I repeat before the end of week 2 into bloom (summer only)... I do all that whether I see mites or not.. I usually do not see any but its better just to do it anyways... I am not ultra clean myself but I stick with people who are ultra clean thus they force me to be clean... I mean like green matter left on the flower or dust everywhere or just dirty environment... being super clean is the key to being mite free.. mites lay eggs everywhere, they wont hatch (some crazy numbers like 1 mite can become 3 million in 3 days) until the environment becomes to their liking so they may be there for months (years?) .. just waiting for your temps to go up...
Can mites transfer to people? YES oh YES oh my, they jump 1 meter long/high, technically you must wash clothes if you just come across one mite... .... or friends with mites ... or strangers on the bus or ... well anyone....they could live from 24 hours to a week and even then they may lay eggs in your clothes which just wait till you wear them in that special room of yours and they hatch because the temperature is just right and the smell of the garden is calling them and you have a wee bit of a problem.... I don't mean to scare you but the fact is mites are everywhere... its more important to control them then to fear them... why do you think fruits and vegetables are so much sprayed with crap... mites are your friends because they are everywhere..... so I figure no,,,but I have been wrong before. must add that: allergic reactions are very rare
say i'm do a 12 hr thing and i want to bring it back an hr like say 9 to 8 will that miss with anything there 3 weeks in ?... 1 hour here or there is not a disaster, but I would not make this decision lightly, but if it is really important then it should not have much negative impact,... 2 hours may be even.. more I can not honestly say... theoretically very very stressful...
hey ..you told me about my mistake leaving the dome on my clones for too long...as they wilted so I am putting them under my hid but ..what is the real likely hood they will come back? if they really wilt is it like maybe in a week or two? am I better cutting new ones and starting over? This time only leaving under dome 2 days ..what do you think of the plain ole green clone gel...you usually seem not to buy into fancy crap..and I wondered what is the appropriate amount of wilt one should expect after cutting clones ..me being new at it.. THX.. I will try to explain what a perfect clone/environment is: step 1: clone should be 3 inches in height, with at least 2 big leafs and 2 small ones in the middle, cut with brand new shaving blade at a 45 degree angle.... if there is foliage below the lower half of the clone, cut it off, it dies and usually takes the rest of the clone with it...... hopefully you have more leafs (then the basic 4) and you need to do the following to some if not most leafs: its best to cut off the outward 1/3 or 1/4 or 1/5 off of the leafs with scissors... like cutting off 1/4 (lets say) off of your fingers... it allows the clones to control humidity better... call it a trick.. dip the clone once into powder, little is best.. insert at least 1/2 inch or best an inch into rock wool slab (presoaked with water for at least few hours if not 24 hours) , I can not describe this trick because its a "feeling".. make sure the inserted clone is "firm".. feel this by gently tugging at the clone after insertion... if it pulls out too easily re-insert again few millimeters to the left or right..... cover with dome... place 1 foot away from T5 fluorescent, 2 inches from T2 fluorescent... I would not even bother opening the dome for the first 2 days... after 2 days its a judgment call to take the dome off, you can delay this till day 4 or 5 or 6 or later..... if you do, and they wilt, they should recover within hours after being sprayed (and dome being replaced immediately of course).... in that case wait two more days and try again... they need to get "used" to being without a dome sooner or later... in my case I take the dome off on 2nd day and spray only once but well... summer being humid needs no further daily spraying, but its ok if you do... do not use heating pads until dome is off or they will cook themselves...
Thanks mark maybe I have been trying to get too cool..had such mite prob's it just seemed best. I luv total temp control...I love low temperatures and I know some growers who swear by keeping the temperature at 72... so I agree its can be a personal thing, but books agree its optimum to keep at 80.... now that you help me to reflect, I had grown in a basement or two in winter with seriously low temperatures ... 60.. 50.. and I still got good crop.. so that "optimum" is like a 2nd place at the Olympics.. 10th of a Second difference and somehow your a "loser"... .. .so got bigger BTU a/c to be able to keep tmps down even on the hotest summer day..... it is still true mite don't bother much under or around 72
Ya dude 85 way to hot...have you had mite prob's yet...Mark will tell ya 75 (f) max.. I work with Celsius so it should be at 27C optimally..which I checked is 80.6 .if you keep temps under 24 (c) 72 ish mites wont reproduce.. you are correct but its easy to say .... its the middle of summer... it is true that its best to have temps at 80 (optimum temp is 80, when mites happen bring it down to 72.. but then once they are gone bring it up to 80).. 85 in this heat is not a killer, its just a small problem, humidity may be worst, but there is not much you can do about it... yes mites will be an issue and you should watch out...
i run a 400watt system w/ a 60 cfm blower in a grow tent 4, 4, 6 ft temp stays a 85'...and i 'm thinking to pump in coolair ... 85 is the max you want but it is still ok... I would pump air in to try to bring it down to 80... but the fan for air-in should be smaller then the 60 CFM you have for air-out... or if you want to spend money get a bigger fan for air-out and use the 60 CFM as air-in....

I have never turned down a complaint, simply contacting us would have been sufficient... and don't worry, when you join, your copy of the permit is stored with a lawyer.... and its a good lawyer too... if you get into any trouble I can at least defend you, if you call me after the problem occurs I may not be as generous....
Mark I just wanted to ask you why the medical product has been so wet lately. You are known for properly drying the medical weed...but the last couple of batches have been quite wet. I take 7 grams out of my stash at a time...left it out on the table the other night..which I usually don't do anyway...and there was only 3.2 gr left in the morning..WOW!!!...I don't pick up my product my M.M.A.R. buddy does....but T.I.M.E. product has always been properly dried in the past....do you have a partner ? has he changed things? Just wanted to ask... first... reselling cannabis purchased from us is illegal and thus if you have a MMAR permit you should join us first and then your buddy can pick up for you, .... otherwise I have a hard time controlling who gets what... did you pay cost? or did your buddy made money?.. once you join we can mail you the product... did he sell you his weed or ours? how would you or I know... not that I am trying to deflect the issue... but this is a thorny issue... you are putting me in a position where I know some one is re-selling... this is a breach of our contract... if you were our patient we would simply take your word.. its that easy...
i have had 2 plants from seed, that in my view, flowered from stress due to root bounding. (upon transplanting the female into a larger pot, the plant started to re-vegetate) ....the transplant works sometimes because A. salt build up - usually too much nutrients too early on in their lives...replant gives a fresh start... or B. root bound indeed.....out of all 10 seeds, 2 flowered under 18/6 and one was male the other female. the rest developed male pre-flowers and only 3 were female. it was a lazy depressed fuck up on my part, nothing to do with mark's genetics, as i use mostly his. so the question then becomes; are you're plants root bound 420man? or getting root bound? its possible that the genetics of the particular plant that you keep are just prone to this or some other stress, if not then i have no idea and am at odds just the same! peace and good luck!.... ... let me explain that it is absolutely positively critical to get a mother plant going... seeds ARE supposed to be a start... it takes space, effort and a bit experience but seeds pale in comparison to clones when it comes to stamina and yield... and ultimately all you need is ONE female and a fluorescent light....

good as 1 x 1000 CFM... but you can NOT put them IN-line together...
hey guys, i found a steal of a deal on a ton of containers of various high-end nutrients. most bottles have been opened within the last 6 - 12 months, but collectively there is like $1000 worth of nutrients for $100. just wondering if it is safe to buy nutrients in containers that look in good shape, but have been opened some time ago. does it go bad?... THEY ARE NO GOOD... DO NOT BUY THEM... Nutrients have a expire date like everything else... when the container is open its no good within a month unless you keep it in the fridge...

Hey Mark... I just bought the TDS Gro Check meter which measures in ppm. I know that EC is the most accurate because ppm meter just multiply by factor. The manual says that 2µS = 1ppm. So does that mean that all I have to do is multiply whatever is on the display by 2 to get the EC? Or do I have to buy an EC meter? So if the display reads 210 ppm then its really saying 420 EC? Hey Mark can you tell me a bit about the white shark all indica, 25 year old strain, 10 with me, heavy feeder, very rugged and easy... as long as you feed it 20% more then other plants...... and the super skunk. ...nothing special, easy feeding, all indica... What percentage indica/sativa are they? What are there flowering times? 8 weeks in both cases... harvest at 3rd day of week 8...Do they like heavy nutes or not to much?
I only have flouries for my veg, good ones the sunburst kind 4 ft but My Q is my clones...can I put them under my HID ( when they are rooted enough) for 12 hours a day (ya HID in bud) then put back under flouries for the last 6 hours of veg time (ya don't want them to go into bud yet but still grow..get to 2 ft idea)...or is this too stressful or something..the problem is with only flouries to veg under I wonder if that is enough power to veg clones into plants they are ok the plants can get up to 1 foot tall under fluorescent lights... after that you need a bigger light...etc...in order to have a month rotation of a few plants..you know I am trying to get small yield every month...or do I really NEED a veg space with a minimum HID output, ( M.H.) to do this effectively????????????? Cheers... you are thinking correctly... you should be ok with a fluorescent light and a HID... YES, you can move the clones from HID to fluoro and back any time you wish.. however bare in mind that the proper distance form the HID bulb is 4 feet away from a 1000W, and 600W... 3 feet from 400W... IF, IF the clones wilt 15 minuets after moving from fluor to HID, pull them back one more foot... wilting would mean in this case too much light... so just watch out for that at the beginning... (I have to add.... a 6 month old HID light loses 50% of its penetration... and you MAY have to place them closer to get the correct effect)...
Thanks Mark for removing the info about "the doctor" I know the author is trying to help but completely agree with YOUR take on things...besides he is my doctor too...I don't want to lose him b/c maybe this guy did not talk to the Dr first( I am sure he did not b/c the doctor I am sure would tell him not to do what he did)..he would get so swamped ( and I think, knowing him, he would get pissed ) he might just drop his M.M.A.R. patients...I wonder if the author considered that... just look at all the weird stuff that guy posted about the another guy yesterday.....people can be so freakin strange......you just don't know these days..... boy, I could tell you things :-) ... people are weird indeed...
Mark, a local hydro shop owner tell's me that "Gel2Root cloning gel" is the newest way to clone....even if your are in bloom....up to 2 weeks in bloom, after it will work but it will take 2 months for them to root.. He has a few samples of stems with no leafs that are showing signs of roots. This takes longer but they we develope a root system. What is your opinion on this cloning gel? How do you transfer it to soil or hydro? with dirt you transplant the entire gel with roots, with rockwool I don't know :-( good question... Regards... I don't think this system is any better then any other... its just different... if you want the best, look up aeroponics, difficult but it takes 3 days to root... my method takes 7.... Its not enough difference to spend money on.... sorry but personally all new products are just gimmicks... clever but gimmicks anyway...

This reference is only applicable to people with issues associated with chronic pain, but for those who HONESTLY have chronic pain issues you MAY be able to get your MMAR forms signed by Dr. xxxxxxxxx located at xx in Toronto. MARK, I have a few strains I'd like to keep as "mothers". What steps must I take in doing this? Please keep in mind that they are all in bloom and are only 13 inches tall. Never worked with indica and would hate to loose them as mothers. Thanks.. if they are less then 2 weeks into bloom you could take a clone and re-grow the clone as a mother, if its more then 2 weeks into bloom its too late..... if you continue the bloom and harvest... you could bring them back to veg after but it may take 2 months, if they don't die...
you mentioned earlier that those 3-in-1 air conditioning units don't carry enough power for serious cooling. i'm wondering what does? do i need to invest in a 2 or 3 ton air conditioner if i want to run 10 - 15 lights? i assume each ton is about 10,000 BTU so is 30,000 BTU enough for 10 lights? would it not be enough for 15? do these things need a special power supply? i assume they can't be run off 120v/15 amp service... sorry I can not help you.. you do not have the basics to succeed yet... and this site if for personal grows and not for a grow-ops...
I am getting some clones in a few weeks and want to get everything ready. I need to know how much promix to buy and whether or not it will keep....its dirt it will be ok for a long time... if i have 12 inch planters, how many bags of promix should i buy for 30 clones? 2, its about 15 x 12 inch pots per bag of dirt...i just need to know how much comes in each bag, relative to how much a pot will hold, to ensure i don't come up too short or with too much excess. if i do buy a few extra bags, will they keep for a certain period of time or are they always good? sure..can the left over promix from past cycles be re-used or is it contaminated in some way?.. can be as long as you remove the roots, just major pain in the ass...
probably a stupid question, but you mentioned $75K for bail was what the judge threw at you first time. my question is, if you can't make bail, then what happens?..you stay in jail... till trial... happened to my friend... he got $500000 bail (not really pot related)... I don't got that kind of money... he stayed 4 months in jail... and received 2 months punishment, so he got punished twice... scary... do you stay locked up until your court date 2 years later? ...they usually let most go without bail after 6 months...also, since you had $75K first time, $1K I created a public spectacle on this one.. short of calling the crown an asshole...second time and none third, does this imply that others in this situation now are likely to see a small or zero bail because the nature of the case is similar to previous ones (precedence, using you as an example) or am i way off and should expect something in the ballpark of $75K bail regardless because it is first time for me....hasn't happened to me, but need to know what to expect. thank you.. I would love to say -"don't worry" but I can not... I can only provide the facts as I see them....permit + few extra plants means nothing... i.e. summons to court, eventually case dismissed when the crown wakes up and reads the law, or nothing since I never actually saw a cop count the plants... NO permit? ... Peel and Durham region will give you $75K bail, they are evil... Toronto not really... The only thing without permit you can do is to have a lawyer on stand by...
most physicians who are unaware or who do not understand the validity of medical marijuana will not sign the form....they will be more comfortable prescribing known and tested treatments. so for those that approach their GPs or family physicians should do a quick pubmed ( www.pubmed.org ) search and bring the articles that demonstrate the effectiveness of cannabis to their doctor's apt. type in the disease and cannabis and you should get some results. in addition, if anyone is overweight or has a weight problem there is a good chance that your MD will refuse. one of the side effects of cannabis (or one of the beneficial effects of cannabis) is hyperphagia or increased appetite. why would someone prescribe a med that will put someone at risk of coronary artery disease when another med which doesn't have that side effect can be used instead, safely and with known side effects. needless to say there are many beneficial effects of cannabis and it is becoming used much more frequently in certain disease population. for example crohn's disease. efficacy has been proven. most 'younger' gastroenterologists will sign MMAR papers. most people with crohn's already have a GI doc so its not as big a problem. asking your fam MD to prescribe the cannabis for this condition will most often and very likely result in a big NO. alot of them struggle with keeping up with current practice standards, let alone cutting edge stuff. pain specialists, oncologists, certain psychiatrists are very comfortable with cannabis. so if you're seeing your family doctor about this issue it can be discouraging. if you have a specialist that is following your case, speak to them, speak to their resident, speak to someone that is on the team, and you will be heard. sometimes you will have to speak loudly and frequently to be heard....occasionally you have to bring in the pudding, the proof that this works and that's where the free sharing of up to date research and medical information on pubmed will help. just my 2 cents. PS I was diagnosed with crohn's, had an operation, and am currently using cannabis to help with my daily aches and pains associated with my bowels.
I have the necessary requirements for a medical cannabis license, but my doctor who thinks it is a good idea feels he doesn’t want to sign my forms, though he would be willing to refer me to another doctor, but that is my dilemma. Has anyone elks had this problem and is there an easy solution? My search for doctors who would sign seems to be coming up short. Hey Mark thanks for your answer so fast. I am new to growing yes but i do know what a flowering plant looks like. When white pistils start to show and they start to stink a bit then you know they are flowering. The only thing that will make the plant flower is a light change to 12/12? correct No stress given to the plant whatever it may be won't make them flower to protect the plant? correct First time it happened i can't come up with anything to why. The last 2 might be from the lights going out possibly when we had a storm more then 12 hours ??? maybe but wouldn't have been for that long 15-60 minutes max. Would that make them flower just that bit of darkness. it would not make them flower The ones that just did it this week i know did get like 10 minutes darkness when i changed my MH bulb to a new one. If anyone else has an opinion on this please give your 2 cents lol
For those of us never involved in any legal challenge the way you have been, I think a ballpark idea of the total hassle it was to you would be useful to know, such as, how long did the process take? 2 years 1st time, 1.5 years the 2nd time, and 8 hours the 3rd time...What was the bail and how long were you held? $75K 1st time 4 days in Don, $1K 2nd time 3 days in Don and 0 the 3rd time 8 hours in Durham somewhere... Did they go as far as checking the contents of your computer nope, each time they left my laptop alone hard drive and asking to see your email records? again, no.. What type of legal fees should someone expect to incur in fighting off charges associated with growing a few more plants than the permit allows, if they otherwise are legit MMAR holders....I never paid for lawyers because I defend myself so I cant say for sure, but from others experience usually $10K on average... with a lawyer, each visit to court costs from $250 to $500 and there is about 8 of those in a regular "trial".... And most importantly, if one of us runs into a jam like yours, ...then you contact me then...if I get my lawyer involved chances are I will end up paying for it anyways.. so contact me when you get busted, I'm always looking for an opportunity to change the law..could you recommend a good lawyer who would be available for such representation? (ps - I'm not a cop....my answers would be the same even if you were :-)

How many lights did you have going over your 1200 plants? I had 8 lights, 24 mothers and 1100~ clones... to the cops it matters little that they are clones, they just count the total number of plants.... that's 1.2 million dollars operation according to police... let me jump in my Bentley and show you my Supersonic Jet.... LOL I really have a good chuckle about this :-) So you had 1200 plants & the charges never stuck. ...exactly .. stuck? hell I confessed to 3 separate cops, cops thought the case was closed ... Crown, cops and the whole legal system is so ignorant that I used DEA studies to prove how fucking stupid the system set up by Health Canada really is.... I used data of my worst enemy to prove Health Canada wrong.. sorry about my French but this issue is a never ending frustration to me.... The reason the crown will never bring charges forth on a medical grower is because if they get someone with only half a brain he/she could "accidentally" legalize cannabis for everyone by winning their case, that's why they keep dropping my cases... that's the nature of loosing a criminal case by the crown .... and the crown will never charge someone who could potentially destroy the system like it happened in 2000, 2001 and 2003... and these days you even do not have to be medical to win your case... look up Long vs. Queen.... VERY theoretically pot is actually legal in Ontario, problem is that cops don't know.. funny isn't it...
Hi Mark,I have a few outdoor plants in my backyard that have grown too tall.(7ft). I want to bend the top of the plant using fishing line and duct tape in the shape of a horseshoe. go ahead Will this stress the plant? yes of course a little, however it is necessary to do it and is a normal part of outdoor grow, so go ahead and do what you must :-) Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks outdoors you can actually do whatever bending, re-shaping or staking you wish, BUT do it only once, and ALL at once (not a little bit every day for weeks at a time, that's stress!!)... be gentle of course but she will take it well...
Hi Mark thanks for answering my question about my plants flowering on there own. Yes my 400W MH is on 24hrs. You would say that over watering or any kind of stress wouldn't make the plants flower on there own? correct, only a rutheralis strain from eastern europe has this property and you don't have it....It's just happen 3 times now and thought it might have been the cold floor but like i said i put them on top of other pots to get them off the floor this time but same thing. The last time it didn't happen as fast as this time i think they got up to around 24". I am just frustrated because i can't take clones because they didn't have any side shouts that were big enough thus having to start again from seed which adds a lot of time. All my strains are hybrids that i bought from seed banks...someone help me out here.... it is impossible for a plant to flower on her own so I must conclude that you are misinterpreting somehow what flowering plant looks like, but I 'm not saying it with insult... because for this to happen 3 times is out of my knowledge base... head scratch...
Hi Mark, I have 4 potted plants outside in pro mix, I would like to bring them inside ...........I have extra room....My 12 hours is 9pm-9am. I was wondering if "changing" the light cycle will stress them out to much for them to recover over an 8 week period. The 4 plants have only been outside for 16 days.Thank-you....stressful: YES... they could wilt for a while due to lack of light, since even a 1000W is not as powerful as the sun... I would move them only if it meant death outdoors... like a real emergency... you may be risking the entire crop... stress could mean a lot of different things... they could be just fine and they could just die... its a really wide range of possibilities...
Hello I have a question it could sound stupid but some of me plants are almost ready to harvest BUT I got some fast pine seeds from you and there just starting to turn the male is that normal for them to turn this late.. thanks...how did you determine this? turn male means that you are seeing actual flowers (it would actually look like a little yellow flower) springing from in between the buds... plants don't just become male... they either grow actual flowers OR you see seeds inside the bud.... or I guess it was never a female and was male all along?? or a hermaphrodite...
Hi Mark: Just curious here, Is there any actual limit to the amount of hid lights you can use. Like lets say I had 5 or 6 lights but still stuck within my card limit. Like if I grew 4 plants or what not under each light. It would be considered a commercial grow by law standards would it not? Would that be a problem for anyone legal to do this? Could the person still be arrested with permit if within plant limit etc? I have never saw this mentioned before so I though I would throw it out there....the system is really stupid... you could theoretically have a million lights and as long as you keep your limit of plants you are fine... fucking genius system indeed... BUT let me confuse you even more and give you personal example... I was charged (1st time) with 1200 plants ..not a type-o ..twelve hundred plants and to fuck with the law I got a permit for 2 plants and fired my lawyer, 2 plant permit.. charges were stayed... learn as you wish from that...
my room has air conditioning for cooling, and uses a 500 CFM fan for ventilation. right now the fan sucks air out of the room and pulls it through a carbon filter. air comes in from under the door and other cracks. works fairly well. however, i only started a few months ago while it was still fairly warm. when winter comes, i wonder if it would be a good idea for me to get rid of the air conditioner YES, turn it off at least if not get rid of.. and just reverse the direction of air flow, so that the fan brings cold air in from outside and pushes it into the room. NO, you would create Positive pressure and thus force smell outside which you don't want, if you want to use cold air outside get another fan and make an INTAKE fan for cold air, but make sure its smaller (less CFM) then the OUTTAKE so you can retain negative pressure in this room........ i guess i would need another fan to make the carbon filter work properly, but i assume it would make sense for me to be bringing cold air in from outside when the opportunity arises. if i have 4 lamps, each 1000w, and 2 lamps that are each 400w, then would there be enough cold air coming in from a 500 CFM fan during ontario winters to properly cool the room? (right now it is cooled with 2 air conditioners, each 10000 BTU).
Hi Mark, great forum. Earlier you mentioned that for growing large plants you recommend about 4 plants per 1000w lamp. I am wondering how much space this should take up in floor space for each of these sets of 4 plants/1 light. Am I right to think it is a 4x4 foot space? 5 x 5 (but you can stretch it to 6 x 6) If so, and I have 12 ft x 12 ft to work with then can I do 9 lights in a 12x12 space?...no, 4 or 5 may be... The actual room is a bit larger to allow for walking and a bit of equipment, and I only plan on running 10 lights over 40 plants, just need to confirm the space requirements will work for me. You Rock! Keep it up!...I must warn you from experience... you wanna start BIG....everyone who started big FIRST - failed... those who started small FIRST - succeeded...
i have been trying to get a doc to sign my forms for almost 4 months with no luck. it has taken a huge amount of my time, and cost me several days off work. i have been reading forums, visiting clinics, and contacting compassion centres but nobody will provide me a referral. what i am wondering is why nobody has taken this process to the next level and set up a service where one open-minded doctor goes around southern ontario on evenings and weekends meeting with patients (even on a fee-for-service basis) and having an honest, open discussion with them. if the doc feels your condition is worthwhile, he will write a script. if he honestly feels you don't need it, or there are other solutions that are better, he will honestly say so and reject the script. it seems to me that having one doctor on board to really challenge the system would throw a dike in the prohibition wave and really allow people such as mark to challenge the system. CMAJ estimates that 500,000 people in canada are eligible, but only about 3000 actually have a license. why don't we go all the way and find a doc willing to work with the movement and sign up people like me who actually need it but just can't find a doc who is reasonable enough to make an honest diagnosis? could it not be pitched to a doc that they could make huge bucks by charging like $200 to meet with people and then advertising it in papers and on TV? even if they just bill through OHIP then one person could start a whole practice on this basis alone! there must be at least one of the many docs in the city that would be up for it. thoughts fellow comrades? ......2 part answer.. part 1. there is a shortage of doctors in Ontario (Thank you OMA) and thus all doctors are already swamped with patients... and 2. Health Canada actively scares and harasses doctors signing these forms... it may actually be easier to get a prescription for oxys then cannabis... some doctors have really scary stories about what HC tells them....... over all in time this may be lawsuit worthy...
Hey Forum Folks. I am interested in the nature of compassion clubs. I know they operate within this grey area of the law, etc, etc, but am curious if they are connected and if there is competition...kidding (?)... yes officer let me explain the nature of our existence... one sec... may be not... Do all the clubs share suppliers, lawyers, common goals, and work around each other or is there tension, competition, etc? I would like to either become involved in one, or start my own, but am weary about being snuffed by the community for either option. I am a good guy but image for security reasons the current ones don't want to just take on active members they don't really know, and i'm wondering if i were to start one with the express intent of providing a compassionate service and doing everything in my power to not directly compete with the others, if there would still be resentment from established ones. this forum may not be a good place to ask this, indeed and if the moderator wants the posting removed i don't object, whatever but am just curious to now how this all works. like if i were to start one to service rural areas or solicit only my own contacts, would there be some room to sharing of knowledge and maybe legal resources or is something like this rather taboo for me to ask...i am an MMAR and know several others who are too but who for various reasons don't like the current compassion clubs (most objections are to rather high prices, and not the best quality bud for medical needs). any advice would help as i do not want to piss anyone off or create enemies, but would like to start a website to offer small amounts of super-quality bud at reasonable prices for MMAR holders only. would this make me an enemy of the other clubs? nope, no one will care when you open your own... each person who opened his club thought they can do a better job then the one before, so you are welcome to try... each club think they are, of course better then the other club... its like school children for Christ sakes.. whats 16 plus 12 ??? there is only 24 hours in my day..what planet are you from???.... a 28 hour day really should stress out your plants lol.............. but I doubt that it will create more trich;s.. genetics RULE !!!! .another says leave your plants in the dark for 2 weeks.......common guys.......common sense????..... ...cold at night CAN do this stress thing..think about mother nature..think about hash plants in the mountains......altitude=thin air, less o2 more co2.....cold ..when its cold do YOU need a coat??? but below 60F or 12C you can get damage......not real damage like a frost /death but slows plant down etc etc....so if it SOUNDS STUPID...then.....
Hey I am using promix and general hydroponics flora series, i have been feeding 50% concentration every time i water (about every 5-6 days) and the leaves are curling up at the edges and look light green or pale, definitely not the dark green i would like. Should i increase the concentration of nutrients when i feed? or is there something else i should look into? Thanks for your help.... looks like a classic under feeding... I would increase the dosage...
Hey Mark. I took you advice and bought 5 of Hundu Kush and 5 of NL x Sk. The NL x SK seeds look great but the Hingu kush seeds of tiny and brown. I don't think any of them will crack. I have them in and will know in a couple of days. If they don't crack can I get some replacements? soak them in a glass of water for 3 days but if they don't pop, yes but bring them back please. BTW... You can tell the girl you have working there that her back tat is great. :) Thanks
Hey Mark just wanted to ask you something maybyou can help with my problem. My plants always seem to be fliping into flowering before i want them too. My veg room has a 400W MH the room stays between 75-82 and the humidy goes between 30% and 55% depending on what time of year it is. I have had this problem happen three crops now and thought the first two was because the pots were on the floor which is a hard wood floor and might have been to cold and made them flower. I put the pots this time on top of bigger pots getting them off the floor but i checked tonight and 3 of the 8 plants have started to flower and they are only 6 weeks old and between 12" and 15". The only thing i did was over water them the leaves kind of went a little wrinkly which mean over water i believe.... I don't know what to say... plants don't flower by themselves, light cycle makes them flower... you are telling me that they flower when your light is ON for 24 hours a day???.. ONLY if you have eastern European species.. rutheralis (sp?) and I do not think you do...
Quick best Honey oil...get a 1 foot piece of pvc pipe with end caps 2 inch is best...put weed...ground up well( previous advice on weed quality put in is right) in...small hole 1 end fit butan can...2x bigger hole other end ..USE butan b/c its fast its evaps in 10 minutes with minimal heat ( like a hair dryer or coffee maker pad b/c butan boliing point is like 85 degrees f )make sure you secure end caps to pvc so butan preasure does not blow off cap ends [ outside of can preasure this is safest way and even if you dont secure your pvc end caps the worst that can happen is blow your weed all over your floor...and no oil!!]...run 2 large cans thru pvc into pyrex 1 cup [ will fill to 8 oz mark] then evap to the thicknes you like ..ie able to pour in vile..use at least half ounze of great weed should get you half a 5 grammer...NOW b/c butan is best b/c it evaps 100% iso 99% does not....takes freakin forever..BUT use a drop or 2 of iso to stabalize your oil..that is if you dont want it to completely crystalize in hours....you dont have to judge how long to WASH your pot you will never get green crap oil and its so fuckin easy once youve set up and done it once..I make honey oil in 20 minutes weed to vial....also butane will wash your weed better than iso...and of course faster..no explosion risk in evap and well you try what ever way you like but I wouldn't use Iso for anything
I recently graduated to taking my own clones of my mothers...the first batch looked great after a week in the covered bin but as soon as I put the cubes into small pots with promix they wilted big time.2 reason this happens..1 ... its a mistake to leave the dome ON the clones for longer then the initial 2 days.. the clones get used to the high humidity and the moment you take the dome off the wilt... take dome off after the 2nd day after cutting...Second reason is that after transplant you move them from one type of light to another... usually from fluorescent to HID... if you don't let them adjust for the first 24 hours by raising the light up to 3 feet they will wilt.....I have watered them heavily and a couple are perking up again after a few hours.. heavy spraying would help more....I root them under the sunblast 1mtere flour's that I have slow veg'd under...how long should i wait expecting the clones to root...etc thanks...in a perfect world from 5 to 10 days.. depending on many things... but its not unusual to wait 2 weeks when you're new at this...
im in to last week of bloom and iv been putting the crop under 16 hours darkness 12 hours light because i read that it produces more resin with more hours darkness is this true? will it effect potency? I believe this is not true, and may even be a mistake however I have no solid proof and I am curious to find out if it is may be true, why not eh....
Hi Mark: What is your opinion on cutting off all the lower buds cut bottom 1/3 of leaf and braches..& branches etc to get bigger buds on top. What week of bloom can this be done at. in the 3rd week of bloom or few days before Will it effect yield or potency in a negative way. I see no difference....remember that you only cut the bottom leaf/branches because they are not getting any light.. if they are in fact getting decent light and are not too overcrowded I leave them... so its not a cut and dry cut ALL or NONE... its a selective process that leaves some plants completely cut and some not cut at all and some in between...
If you do a Quick ISO Wash 20 seconds or less shaking vigorously you will have a golden product that often gets hard like a rock & very sticky. You get what you put in, the better the buds the better the oil, less buds more shake equals more plant material in the wash = dark oil, yuk. The longer the plant sits in the solvents the more plant material will break down & mix with your oil. So if you want it purer do a Quick ISO Wash. You can do a second maybe third wash with the same herb but do it fast. Don't mix the washes, keep them separate. After you've quick washed your herb with ISO - Pour your quick wash first through a metal strainer than into the coffee filters to drain into a mason jar. You don't want it sitting in any plant material while it's filtering. Once filtered pour the wash into a glass plate or other to purge. I don't use any heat, you can use it, I don't, even a heating mat will speed up the purging process but is unnecessary if you can wait for evaporation to occur naturally. The wash can be stored in a mason jar until you want to evaporate/purge the ISO & make oil. Butane can be used with a tube. http://okief.com/bho.html
hi mark .... when plants get root bound what are the symptoms? do they die or does it just affect yield??? thanks.... quite rare because they can really grow in tiny spaces... but it can look like anything that is a problem... sometimes leafs curl, sometimes leafs burns, sometimes they stop absorbing nutrients, and they go yellow when your dumping massive amounts of nutrients... generally they stress out and tend to stop growing or blooming... they just stand there and do nothing... but this could also be true due to many different problems....
Mark, Amazing website. I haven't been able to find another website as clean and this...really? people tell me it looks like acid freak designed the looks of it :-) what a pro!!!! In terms of yield, I understand that a 1000W light will typically put out over 1 lbs.... What is the same strain of plant is placed out doors will they yield higher? yes, simply put, sun is just much more powerful and give off more lumens, i.e. food, so plant generally yield more (provided weather cooperates)....I have my plant in a section of the yard with 18ft banana palm trees taht filter the light...will they still put out? ...yes, but yield less because there is less sun... probably still better hen indoors but its yet to be seen I guess... depends on how much restriction... if its complete you may not get anything...
To the guy who wanted some recomendations regarding strains, I would highly recommend the NL x Skunk cross. Its cheap$$ and quick to finish, 7-8 weeks max. Great for a relaxing evening at home, but no good for anything you actually need a brain for. I'm going down next week to pick up some more. Mark: Can you recommend anything else like this strain as far as yield, speed of finish and quality, white shark I was looking at the skunk x blueberry. sure, but less yield I only grow once a year for myself and need something thats going to produce well indoors. they all do well indoors, that;s how they were bred, but I would always go for variety, as in more then just one... your brain gets used to a strain in one week... for heavy heavy tokers, not all smokers...

I have been getting terrible weed. I need some seeds that is going to give me some great weed. I don't care about the yield just the quality. Can you recommend a strain you sell that finishes quickly and produces great quality. If anyone else has tried any of marks strain with good results, please recommend one. I have been looking at the Hindu Kush but I don't know. I am so tired of crap weed.\\ Thanks ....I make no recommendation on individual tastes.. it really is individual taste.. so .. all I can say that instead of getting 10 of X, get 5 of X and 5 of Y... try both and keep one you like... or better yet alternate your strains, keep both and smoke one this week and the other next week.. your brain gets clogged up if you smoke only one strain for too long...
CORRECTION (hope I'm not wrong!)....I think there is a minor typo several posts back in the thread about Health Canada licensing multiple growers...it says "a grower AND a licensee" (search for it), but I think Mark meant to say someone who is a licensed grower for him/herself cannot (at present) be licensed to ALSO be a designated grower for another patient. correct Please confirm. Also, I found the answer unclear regarding the question: If multiple patients who are individually licensed to grow register the same address, currently up to 3 per address will Health Canada (at present) honour the application or reject it I tried and they said no (its a bigger story but the end result was no) based on them not recognizing the Jan 08 court decision?....I'm no lawyer but here is the interpretation: technically multiple growers are legal as of Jan.08, however the crown is appealing so technically both side can "claim" victory.. the answer is that when you apply for more then 3 people per address OR want to grow for Yourself AND your buddy then HC will stall... you really wont get a clear answer just by calling them, try telling them that only communication must be through a fax (they hate that because it puts their bs on record) but with a lawyers help they finally admit that they are waiting for the crown to appeal the Jan.08 decision which defacto legalized what I already do.....
Mark, All of my "girls" are in the second week of bloom. White Widow, C-99, Purpel Kush. The are just over 8 inches tall...is this normal for them to bloom this small? ..you have breads that naturally tends to stay short ...sort of like, no matter how long you veg... they never seem to get bigger then 12 or 15 inches... they are primarily for indoors so they will bloom just fine outdoors (no issue with quality) but they just wont yield as much as a strain dedicated to just getting huge (which would not really work indoors) I have a few more clones that will be ready for my organic garden in a few more days. It is my understanding that they will be over 8 inches tall as well. What type of yield can I see from my garden? they are getting over 12 hrs of clear California sunshine with Temp. over 101. Thanks Again!!!....I assume you are outdoors, so this is normal season for this plant to bloom as soon as she is exposed to the sunlight... no matter how big or small the plant they will start to boom outdoors... however even in bloom these plant will grow some... how much will depend on the strain... the more the indica the less they will grow... you seem to have all indicas so from 8 inches to 12 or 15 may be in the end, it is a little late to put them outdoors and they may not may it before winter (but this being California I guess your season is a wee bit longer then in Canada eh :-)... you can induce flowering prod but artificially cover the plants on a 12/12 cycle... cover them with a lose bag.. less light more bud...

Thanks in advance for all your help in the past and in the future! I was wondering how you manicure your crops. Do you do it manually by hand with scissors, electric hand trimmer or do you have one of those manicuring machines ie Trimpro (If so which one)? ...the one in the link What tools do you recommend for the manicuring process?........Step 1: cut... step 2: run through Trim-Pro ..step 3: hang upside down and dry.. step 4: cut down into a cartoon box and cure further.. step 5: hand-manicure the bud individually.... the trim-pro takes off only the big leaf but is inadequate for precise manicuring, if the cannabis was going to the streets it would be adequate after trim-pro but I don't grow for the streets... trim-pro does safe time by taking off the big and medium leaf... but you still need to manicure the bud in the end..

I have some plants that are flowering outdoor and I was wondering what some good fertilizer is that I could get anywhere? ....anywhere? like a hardware store?... may as well go for anything that says Flower OR Blooming formula... there is plenty choices... like Plant Products 10-30-15...or Miracle Grow Ultra Bloom (I think its 10-52-10)... or anything for that matter.... brands are not relevant because in a hardware store 90% of the stuff is oil based so brands don't matter much....I would not use these brands indoors because they are too strong,... ok for outdoors...... also what are some good ways to keep bugs away from my plants?.. neem oil, or if you can not find it, something that has Pyrethrin, sprayed before sun down...

To clarify my previous question. I have a license to posses and grow cannabis. I am going to grow for a medical patient who has just had their documents signed by the doctor. Do I need to get a police check done? Also, this person will be sending their documents off shortly, should my information as the grower accompany it or is it okay to send it at a later date. Thanks... I tried to get my license upgraded to be a grower for myself AND another person and Health Canada refused...., you see in my 3rd trial the crown agreed with me that I can in fact grow for another person because they stayed the case, so I am living proof that they wont prosecute you for already doing it HOWEVER we are talking about technical matters.... Heath Canada claims that the case from January 08 (which legalized multiple grower permits) is being appealed therefore they do not accept yet the application to be a grower AND a licensee at the same time... I mean try if you wish, mail the application but I think I know what will happen... you wont hear from them for months and months and then they will tell you they are either reviewing it OR outright declined... you can grow WITH your buddy... which means he should send in the regular application, but on your address... no police check, no hassle....

I want to make sure I understand this, I can grow for a person that has a permit but I have to get a police check done & thats it? ...yes...I already have a production license. then you can NOT grow for someone else... one person can grow for one person only, so you either grow for yourself OR someone else, you can however grow WITH someone else, i.e. at the same address... up to 2 more people.... the technicality is that they have to take care of their own crop.. Also should the person sending in the papers that are signed by the doctor also include my info police check etc or can that be done at anytime. Thanks...

TRYING TO ANSWER LAST POST: you can get your criminal background check done on College st, north side, and the major police station which is half way between Bay and Yonge during normal business hours. Costs about $25 and takes about a week or two. When they ask what it is for, I just said "Health Canada" and there were no more questions. NOTE: you ONLY need this if you plan on growing FOR someone else (as a designate)...who has no possession license for him/her self... If you are growing for yourself the criminal background check is not needed (as far as I know).. correct .same thing for property owners consent - only needed if being grown at a place that is NOT your normal place of residence, or if someone else is growing for you. They do NOT finger print you. You can grow 5 plants for each gram per day of prescription. If you have 3 grams per day, you can have 15 plants total for all stages of growth (to be completely legal). Mark will have to answer your last 2 questions, and verify what I have said above. BTW...a good friend is in dire need of a physician specializing in pain. Hi Mark just a few questions for ya. I am in the process of applying for my permit. I went to my doctor last week and he said he wouldn't feel comfortable signing the declaration. He did say what he will do for me is send me to a doctor he knows that specializes in pain. He also told me that this doctor can sign the declaration and also be the specialist that is suppose to agree with your doctor that medical weed is a good alterative. either the doctor consults with the specialist and then signs the forms OR the specialist has to sign the forms...I wish everyone had a understanding doctor like i do. I guess i should ask my questions now and stop telling you my whole story lol. Where do you go to get the criminal check at your local polics station? ...you don't need a criminal check for Health Canada forms... only a designated grower who has no possession license has to get checked...When you go for that do they finger print you someone told me they do? no need If the doctor gives me the 3 grams/day, i smoke like 3.5-4 now, you can grow 15 plants i think i saw in a post from another day? If that is true is that 15 flowering or 15 in total veg, clone, and flowering? total is 15 whether its small, vegging or flowering..total number has to be 15... Just 2 more sorry for so many. What organic nutrients do you use for grow, Pure Blend Pro Veg or Flora Nova Veg, or fish emulsion liquids...... bloom, Pure Blend Pro Flower or Flora Nova Bloom, or a cheap A and B formula and for a bud booster? PK-13-14 or DNF Bud Fortifier... Last one is about T5 fluorescents. ... Do you prefer them over regular fluorescents for seedling and rooting clones? no I do not, I see no benefit... there is apparently benefits but I just don't see it....I use normal, boring .. what are they..T2? I think... Do you need a certain type of ballast for them? yes, T5 are thinner so they wont fit into a T2 fixture (I assume that's the "normal" office size fluorescent light) ...so yes, they need their own ballast...Thanks Mark

hey kent,nobody gives away medicine to patients ..not true.. we do... we have to purchase it ,even if we are on disability like me, no one really has compassion, ...I used to feel like that, so I had to do this myself......i have suffered when tapped of cash ,so if was u i would keep it, or somehow contact mmar holders and give it to them..dont think two legal patients helping one another out could be a problem should not ,but if anything whatever center u give it to they will sell it ......true, true, true... so be careful...
